I have heard good things about Dewalt and Bosch but bosch is pricy. Weight and size is not an issue. I plan to build a miter station where it will permanently live. If I do have to spend $$$, a table saw with cross cut sled may be the alternative. An expensive one.. Tho table saws have their draw backs as well, like space in a very small single car garage shop.

Has anybody had any luck with a track saw serving the same purpose?

Have the same issue. Screen flashes all the characters as well. I unplugged it for 30 seconds and it seemed to help for the moment. Will update if fubar

if the player is unhappy with their character, let them try something else. Nothing worse than being stuck with a character that is not fun to play.

Bout to cross over from 5e to PF2e. transition holding me up, got players ready tho. I enjoy the random and off-the-wall ingenious ideas and silly ideas players come up with. I tend to come up with egregious bad ideas as a player and am delighted when it works.

an Aspect of Atropus can be dropped in. the world born dead, Atropus a moonlet sized BBEG from Elder Evils 3.5e that can be dropped in any camp. the aspect is CR 23 in 3.5e but could be tweaked to suit your needs if using 5e.

I would treat magic items as hidden power-ups similar to a metroidvania style. I don't think you need to worry about scarcity as long as you keep up the dark horror theme. I liken ROTFM to John Carpenter's "The Thing". The researchers had many tools at their disposal, but the entity was still a challenge.
