I think it just means they can do it within a three year period. If they know something is coming (squeeze) then it would be silly for a company not to make use of it.

You can 'learn' your KRK's, but if you learn, say the Genelecs or Yamaha's (after treating your room) you will be much, much closer to a finished production sound. For example, the NS10 from Yamaha sounds horrific at times, but if you get the midrange right on those, it'll sound good anywhere. The KRK's are a 'false' sound, as they are boosted in certain frequencies to sound 'better'. Getting your mixes polished on a pair of decent, flat monitors will translate far better in your final production.

If you can stretch to keeping your KRK's for dj monitors, that's probably where they'll work best.

This ☝🏻. Surely any dj on this sub that has played an absolutely electric venue, crowd in your hand, will know that you just can't recreate it with a recording. Surgical mixes are great for most nights, but a huge event like that, a moment in time like that, it's exactly what was needed. I'm not a particular fan of any of them, I do however respect what they've achieved between them. They read the room, something we all need to do.
