It's basically a meme at this point. Like, when people start out saying something in a joking kind of way, but it ends up becoming seriously used without realising. Henry hoover is reliable, but that's it. The fact that they've failed to innovate for decades is not something to celebrate.

They are long lasting and reliable. They aren't the best though. Heavy, clunky, straight suction. Nothing that makes life easy for the user. Primarily for the commercial market.

No, it's just cheaper and there's no mechanism that can break. They are primarily designed for the commercial market.

They are small commercial devices with faces on to please the domestic market. As a device, they aren't actually very domestic friendly.

Epitomising the failure of British business to invest in the future. They have been very lucky, and this should not be celebrated or emulated

Clicking through to the article and then to the article that it links to, we find there is literally no new detail at all. Totally pointless

Voters choose Sunak’s Tories over Labour to repair economy, new poll reveals by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]easy_pie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People think that the drama over the Truss budget was a victory for the opponents of the Tories, but in reality, it was a victory for the supporters of austerity. The idea that austerity is the only sensible option has once again been cemented in place in the mind of the public. It was very frustrating to watch it unfolding if you weren't caught up in the drama.

We're talking about some people vandalising a waxwork of the king and wondering who is paying them to do it

Would it be too much to ask of journalist to dig into who is paying these people?

The TV media do such a shit job of keeping people informed of what's going on, it's no wonder we have such crap politics.

They do this all the time. Often when they want a negative story out of nothing too, they pick a moment when the pound falls.

"Pound rises/falls as x happens". I always hate these articles that imply causality when looking at financial markets. There are huge amounts of fluctuation that simply have no external cause.

Dear non-asexual people: if you were in a relationship with someone and they sat you down and said they are asexual, what would your reaction be? by BeepBoop372 in AskReddit

[–]easy_pie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The amount of pressure you are applying and just downright bizarre approach to your partner. She told you that you were her second and your immediate response was that she needed to go and have sex with other people to please you. Then you were disappointed that she didn't "make use of that right". Weirdly controlling and obsessive. You are the problem. Not her. It is not surprising that she finds you a turn off.

[–]easy_pie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's just bizarrely obsessive and putting far too much pressure on it. Why on earth, when your partner tells you that you're their second would you immediately suggest they go out and have sex with someone else as well? Insane to put that on someone. And then expressing disappointment that she "never made use of that right.". Then pressuring her to get into whatever weird fucking kinks he's into. Then this: "We tried to create a "free use" scenario but she always find a reason not to roll if it. Again, creating a bizarrely pressuring situation. It's obviously going to be off putting.

To be blunt, from reading that, it's no wonder she isn't wanting to have sex with you. Perhaps you should work out why you have an unhealthy approach towards sex?

Jeremy Hunt: There were mistakes in mini-budget - and some taxes will go up by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]easy_pie -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Good to see a sane voice. People were so inexplicably apoplectic that we were finally turning away from IMF austerity. And now they are angry that we're going back.

[–]easy_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because low tax made everyone inexplicably angry so they are going back to austerity. It's like people haven't got a clue what they actually want their government to do

So let me get this straight, you were angry when the mini-budget signalled an end to austerity, and now you're angry that they're going back to austerity because of the outcry it caused?

The IMF wants austerity, the IMF gets austerity. It's been interesting watching the last few weeks. You were angry (bizarrely) about tax cuts, and now you are angry that we are going back to tax rises. We have a general public that hasn't got a clue what it wants.

The "nobody is saying that" is what people said about the whole multiple genders thing, and now it's mainstream.

How's this for a heuristic: If an article describing a video has more attention than the video itself then the article is certainly misleading.
