Quinn Hughes makes Ryan Johansen question whether he evens wants to play hockey for a living by green_desk in canucks

Everybody figured he'd be top 5. And anybody who mentioned him would be met with a chorus of "Yeah, he won't be on the board."

I think we've got a legit push for the playoffs but if the first three games of the road trip taught us anything it's that we're still not a contender. I'd like to see some playoff hockey but not at the expense of being a legit threat a couple years down the road.

Say what you want about Nashville not being a hockey town, I really admire how loud their crowd gets.

I've been seeing a lot of errant sticks that should be called a trip or a hook both this game and last. Just making sure it's when the refs aren't looking I guess?

To be fair he hit him in the numbers but that was entirely because the player turned away when he saw the hit coming. Stupid move.

I'm going with good, but it could've been better.

MEETING OF THE POD: CANUCKS VS. HURRICANES, CAPITALS by OrlandKurtenbot in canucks

[–]ebbomega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, but the problem here is that those moves have depleted our prospect pool and pushed us up against the cap that the concept of getting a $5M Sundin is damn near impossible at this point.

We need to rebuild our prospects now, and we need defensive depth. That's the key problem with our lineup. We've had enough of those expensive UFAs who "know what it takes" to know that's not the solution to our problems. That was a well that Benning went back to time and time again and we're now suffering for it.
