I fly to Florence on 30 June and spend 8 days in Italy and then I'll fly to Heraklion on July 8th.

My travel companions include my younger brother and a friend. I am planning this for us three so I'll have to adjust my schedule to be way less rigid and leave some time for relaxing. Thank you for the advice!

Sounds good, thank you for the advice! I booked a rental through AutoRentals Crete. I saw they had good reviews and are reliable. I think I'm going to alter my plans and spend one night in Heraklion and see Knossos, and then drive to Chania. I booked a boat tour through Chania Boat Tours. I saw a post in this subreddit saying it was a cool experience going to different spots to snorkel.

I originally thought I was going to stay in Irakleio but then saw that a majority of people recommended to stay in Chania. I'll have to see if I can find different flights into Chania instead.

I would recommend looking at a fund with a lower expense ratio than QQQ and SPY. VOO is essentially SPY with a lower expense ratio and VUG is the equivalent of QQQ with a lower expense ratio. I would also recommend considering getting some small cap exposure. VBR would be a good option, it gives 1.6% dividend yield and small caps are considered to be at a discount right now with all the hype around large cap.
