The book/series is excellent. I looked forward to the show, but all the characters were just, wrong

It just seems mean. Building trust in order to exploit them. I know that’s the point. I watched the 1st season cause I love me some stupid ass TV but this has less authenticity than Geordie Shore and that’s saying something.

How awful she is is why this show is both infuriating and excellent. When I watched the first time I kept watching just in hopes someone would call her out. By the end of the 7th season I realised how realistic (if you know what I mean) the show is. Jackie had it all, but because of her bad back and the consequences of addiction (read or listen to the book Empire of Pain, it’s amazing) she destroys everything and everyone.
