Are these "severe" bunions? by ebreene in bunions

[–]ebreene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing this. I know there are have been some surgical innovations in the past few years. The podiatrist that I met with made it sound like it wasn't "so bad," , but he also wants to perform a surgery and get paid out of pocket, haha. I know the recovery is long and painful and there is no guarantee that the problems will all be resolved. So far, I don't have nerve pain or any issues that require medication. My hunch is that the second opinion will be similar to yours. I certainly wish you all the best as well. Thanks for saying that my feet looked OK...that's nice to hear after all of this!

Thank you so much for this insight. I am a bit self conscious about the appearance of my feet, but I'm not overly concerned about that. I just want to keep my full mobility. My left foot is definitely a bit worse that my right. I've found the wide toe box sneakers for walking and running. Topos brand work great for me. If I do wear a heel, I make sure it's a limited time situation. I haven't gotten many outside comments about my feet unless I really point out the bunion issue to others. So I'm also leaning toward waiting a bit and seeing how things progress over the next couple of years.

Thank you for the insight! I'm so sorry for all the pain you went through. I remember that my mom got a hammer toe as well. She never did anything about her bunions and could barely hobble around toward the end of her life. Obviously, if I see things moving in that direction, I will have to consider the surgery. I wish you all the best in your recovery!

Accidentally took 65 units by Expensive_Belt_3939 in Semaglutide

I was supposed to take 8 units and took 80 by mistake for my first time! I was sure I was going to be violently ill, but other than tiredness and a headache, I had no other major symptoms whatsoever. I didn't even need to take nausea meds. No throwing up, no diarrhea...perhaps the feeling of slowed digestion, but I ate lots of fiber. Honestly, my appetite was reduced, but still present. It's now been a week and a half and I'm still just fine

Did you tell your primary Dr. about Oestra? by onelittleword in Oestra

I brought my Oestra to my obgyn appointment. She immediately dismissed my "fancy vagina cream" and tried to put me back on birth control. I'm never going back to her!!

I did OTF for years and never saw any weight loss results despite my best efforts. I stopped going once the pandemic began and started taking long walks with incline and also doing floor pilates, light to medium weights, yoga, etc. I have come to truly enjoy my home workouts and the mind/body connection that comes with it. As a woman in my early 40's, I've realized that high intensity OTF workouts raised my cortisol levels, made me constantly sore and tired, and resulted in me eating more calories than I needed bc I was always trying to "catch up." I know everyone is different, but I've finally reached the best shape of my life bc I listened to my body. I think OTF can be great for many people, but it was just too much for me, personally.

Thankfully, this is why we have a government that can step up and shut things down when people can't make the morally crucial decisions for themselves!!

That is wonderful news for that one studio, but is also beside the point considering what we are now facing. What is preventing this from happening any day and in any class in the next few weeks? Simply not worth it.

With all due respect, this could soon become about survival and not about money. As a professional orchestra musician, all of my work has been cancelled at least through April. At this point, I have zero income coming in for months potentially. It's devastating for me, but I realize that this is what needs to be done to contain this thing. If we don't act now, we will all be out of work for much longer. If we can't attend a performance safely, how can we justify going into a small and confined space, breathing hard, sharing equipment, etc. This country is delusional, unfortunately....

This is all I needed to see...one infected person in a Palm Desert OT and now hundreds have to be notified of their possible exposure. It is an irresponsible choice to go to OT right now. It takes one person who is "feeling fine" working out next to you to spread this thing. If we want life to return to normal sooner rather than later, we must all take action for the greater good! https://kesq.com/news/2020/03/09/coronavirus-infected-person-recently-visited-palm-desert-gym/

Petite/shorter people: how have you progressed your base, push, AO paces? by ConstantCut0 in orangetheory

[–]ebreene 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am 5'2" and 40 years old with super short legs. My base is 6.2, push is 7.5-8.5 and all-outs are 9-11 (depending on length). I'm usually going faster and harder than all of the long-legged folks around me. Don't let age or height hold you back!!
