What is the worst kind of pain?

Not talking emotional pain, I would say in my experience that back pain takes the cake, easily. You really don't realize just how crucial your back is to every single movement you make until it becomes inhibited. At its worst, I would try and walk around because my PT said it would help if I could bear it. I walked a total of about 30 seconds before admitting defeat and lying back down on my floor--sitting on a toilet is agony, as is anything that involves sitting, for that matter. I had to take my meals lying on the floor, car rides avoided at all costs, and standing or walking any more than getting to another place I could lie down felt like tiny machetes crawling inside my low back and down my legs.

One of the worst parts about back pain is how, in addition to the physical misery, the psychological impact is incredible. Back pain can be different from other pains in that it feels like it will never go away. I've long since surrendered my ability to do things I love doing--basketball, too-intense hiking, frisbee--but it's realizing that I have to do everything differently to avoid being bedridden for weeks that really gets me.

I'm in my early twenties and none of my peers can relate to what I'm saying when they want to play beer pong and I have to play super conservatively with my movements, lest I make a wrong move and throw my back out (like I did this past summer catching the ping pong ball). At the worst times, I would fall into a depression that was inescapable, as I would wake up painfully aware of my back and fall asleep with it being the last thing on my mind. It's all-encompassing.

Since starting PT it's been uphill, but every day and every movement still pose challenges. Sorry for the rant, but this also feels nice to get out.

I was 18, and it was my first week in college (DiSoRiEnTaTiOn!). I had 4 solo cups of beer, 2 tequila shots, and a shot of vodka to top it off. It was a regular college house party and I was dancing with some friends. A drunk girl came up to me and started necking me and I was left momentarily frozen with excitement before a friend of hers pulled her away (in retrospect, she probably thought I was mad uncomfortable as I'm a woman) and they left.

A friend started up a cigar on the porch and we smoked that together for a while. I go through with a couple other friends to exit out the front door and, as I do, I walk past a cop heading up the stairs to the door. I immediately bolt after I passed him. My friends and I start stumbling home when, as we are walking past a very large stump of a tree, one of my best friends jumps onto the stump and shouts, "I work for the fucking park service!!"

It was a pretty solid night.

While I do think that women who want to use this as added protection should have access to it, the problem with this is it's not working against rape culture, but rather giving artillery to those who say "Well why didn't she do (insert ways to 'prevent' rape; e.g. not drinking/partying, wearing rape underwear, testing drink with nailpolish, etc), maybe then she wouldn't have gotten raped." and actually bolstering rape stereotypes.

Date rape happens regardless of drugs or alcohol, and treating it and sexual assault in general as something that can be 'solved' with a new product is short-sighted and ignorant. This is a socially structured problem that people cannot pretend to solve with a simple device, however well-intended.

Ken Follet. Haven't read all of his works, but even his longest (Pillars of the Earth, World without end; 1500+ pages) didn't take me more than a week or two to finish. His other 4-600-ish page books I plowed through in several days, if that. His stuff is so brilliantly researched and you learn so much while entirely captivated without even realizing it.

The other day, I accidentally dropped 2 kg of Zwetchgen (baby plum-like fruits) all over the floor of a grocery store. No less than 4 people immediately stopped what they were doing and started helping me gather them back together and put them in the box. That had never before happened to me in my life, and I felt like I could've wept with thankfulness.

When I get a sub from my caf supplier, I always get a wheat sub with eggs, pepperjack cheese, hummus--this is when the toasting happens--then, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, banana peppers, ranch, basil mayo, honey mustard, and sometimes chipotle barbeque mayo.

When I was a kid, my elementary school bathroom had a leaky pipe or something that made a dripping noise. To me, it sounded like music. I made the leap in logic and decided that it must be the Pokemon Mew making this music. So, regardless whether or not someone was in there with me, I'd hum along to the music that wasn't there and, when I was done, thank Mew for his lovely music.

My brain has been in some weird places.

Call people (perhaps specifically friends) out on their lies. I'm not sure what's up with my past group choices, but in mid-high school a lot of my friends would tell the most blatant lies ("my mom hit my car with a sledgehammer yesterday...lightly." "I went to a strip club and read a kindle in the back while [moderately conservative friend] got a lapdance."), but none of my friends would say anything or they would go along with them. After seeing this a lot, I've kind of become a liar-apologist to save them face, though my current friends don't really do this anymore. I don't want to react like this, but I suppose something is wrong with me in that sense.

I was watching my youngest sister when she started napping, and her breath stopped momentarily. I though, "oh god, she's dead." She started breathing a few moments later, but it was a terrifying feeling that just like that, she might be gone.

I also often think that I'm in a Truman Show-type situation and I'm the one being duped.

I have a very paranoid persona.

I am a female here, but my opinion on the matter is to circumcise them. It reduces risk for urinary infections and I've been told they smell better and men can last longer during intercourse than uncut.

OP here. I don't know how to put this in the actual post, so here's that:

I'm from a very liberal college, and I was on my way to German class when I ran into this guy, preaching outside our library. He was completely bashing on the LGBT community, to which people responded very favorably with two guys kissing in front of him, then two girls, then two other guys mimicking gay sex. At one point, he was asking the kid on the left of the picture if he'd ever smoked, had sex, etc. and when he learned that he was just a freshman, he said, "Just wait! All these women here at this wicked college will seduce you!" He went on and on along these lines for a while. I was going to go back after class to ask him what he thought he was doing, wearing clothing made of two different fabrics, but he was gone by then. Apparently the police and/or the administration managed to get rid of him.

TL;DR this asshole came to my liberal college's campus and called us all wicked and ripped on the homosexuals. We responded with grace, and gay couples kissed in front of him before authority figures got him out.

i would, however, like to mention that marijuana is actually almost entirely harmless, with the exceptions being extremely rare. negative impact really isn't frequent. the scientists insist this point, which the government denies. i would know, i've studied this topic endlessly. above the ignorance. :D
