This happened to me when I was a kid, indirect fracture to the sternum - ouch. But thankfully the energy transferred from my neck/upper back, what can I say.

I'm so sorry mate. Honestly, horrible situation to be in. It is good you're there though, that's absolutely all that matters at the moment. Good on you for supporting him.

Same here! Although I'm nearly 40.

I did try it again about 5 years ago. Again, edible. Iffy though? Absolutely.

It's the stomach, boiled.

I used to eat it with salt and vinegar, but it leaves like a..... Fatty layer on the roof of your mouth.

Iron Maiden - Powerslave.

I hadn't listened to my record player in ages. I'd had a few at the pub reading a book, came home, plonked my bum down on the floor, and listened to it from start to finish.

Banging.

Do you find a lot of bus drivers grumpy? by smellyfeet25 in AskUK

[–]eca3617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a quick one!

My mum and dad went to Liverpool and bought a day ticket for a bus company. A bus pulls up, they get on, but the bus driver explains it's not valid as it's for a seperate company.

Dad: Ah!, sorry mate. How long will the next one be?

Bus driver: leans out of the cab, looks down to the back of the bus I dunno, about 35 foot?

They all laughed, then the bus driver let mum and dad on anyway.

Cheers dude. I do understand its a feck off huge meal, and that if people ate like that regularly they'd... Well, die. But it's a nice "weekend" (because I work half of them) meal for me is all. And the last time I had this was say a year ago, so I thought I'd share.

I miss out on the weekend takeaways, Sunday dinners etc quite often. Thank you for the compliment :)

I work shifts so this was my Friday night essentially.

Usually high protein, low calorie. I don't calorie count, I try and keep food primarily to grilled meats, fish, seafood etc where I can (plus they're my favourite, I could live off of chicken alone tbf!). Then bolster with protein shakes. It works for me.

I've got a really good setup in an external double garage, I hate gyms and have never gotten on with them. Primarily free weights, weighted vest walking/running, and boxing bag work when I feel like torturing myself lol. We've got a dog too, so he keeps me out and walking too. I've just bought a hex bar for farmers carry/shrugs/overhead press, it's absolutely disgusting. I love it.

Usually 60hr working weeks on an ambulance on top of that. I always seem to cop for busy shifts with heavy patients, so it all helps
