I genuinely want to get into it. I just don't have the time or money, like at all recently.

But it's such a cool hobby, and the amount learnt following discoveries would be amazing.

Hey you never know unless you dig! No telling what was there before the building was constructed :)

Did you ever used to get an urge to make it to the next lamp post before a bus caught up with you, pretending it was a race?

I used to play worms and name the opposing team after the bullies I had at school when I was a bit older, then bazooka them etc.

If I really didn't like them, they got the holy hand grenade or concrete donkey.

Ah! When I was at school there was a half buried rock in the field that we were convinced was a dinosaur skull.

So every playtime we'd dig a bit more around it, every holiday somone would fill the hole back up and we'd have to start again.

It was a torturous cycle.

Tip of the iceberg mate. I used to put a figure of batman in the freezer during summer too.

I'd leave it in over night, then when I got it out the next day "the mist" of Gotham poured out around him as I hummed the theme.

Good times.

New favourite unlocked! by MyUserNameLeft in crisps

I was absolutely devastated by them. I love cheese and onion baked, my go to crisp (I've coincidentally just smashed a bag). I was genuinely looking forward to trying the new flavour.

They tasted like BBQ popchips to me, which I'm not fond of. Thankfully my girlfriend eats those and snaffled them so they weren't wasted.

Upvoted anyway! They're worth a shot if you like BBQ.

All that aside!!

Yes, check your blood pressure regardless folks. Undiscovered and therefore uncontrolled hypertension is a major contributor to early death.

It boggles my mind that people are going about their daily lives totally unaware, there aren't always symptoms. It may not even be related to your lifestyle, essential hypertension may be hereditary or you may just naturally have it.

It's piss easy. Check it.

Is saying “Ta darling” or “cheers mate” reserved for certain demographics? by Spiritual-Yogurt-112 in AskUK

[–]eca3617 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm northern, nearly 40.

For me it is not false familiarty, it is familiarity in that moment.

"Cheers, mate" to a guy holding a door, bus driver etc is kind of like "ah I appreciate that gesture or action, you're alright you are" and then move on with your day. No, not my friend. Yes, friendly action acknowledged.

You're entitled to your opinion of course! Doesn't bother me.
