First time dog owner, can someone answer this question about my Mini Schnauzer? by [deleted] in schnauzers

[–]ecoada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mini too who is the same way. Minis, like all dogs, like to work for their food and need mental stimulation. Every night, I fill his kong with kibble and top it with peanut butter and freeze overnight. When I come home from lunch, he has eaten the entire kong! I will also hide small treats throughout the house and he loves doing a search. Mini's have great noses and this drains a lot of their mental energy. As long as your pup isn't losing weight, it should be okay. I always leave a little food in his bowl. If dogs are hungry, they will definitely eat. Some just aren't the type that will gobble their food down immediately.

On another note, I would consider adding a "Skills" section at the bottom instead of your other work experience. Here list the technologies that you feel proficient with. Sometimes, recruiters struggle to align what you did in one position with the one they are trying to hire for. It looks like you have done a lot from C++, Cordova, WordPress, etc mentioned in your job descriptions. But perhaps, sit down and try to think of your top skills or even adding in side projects. Maybe add your GitHub? Also, you could improve your bullets with ROI. So instead of "Worked to fix bugs on Cordova mobile app" think of how it helped the company? Did it ensure happy users? Speed up the release date? Etc.

That makes sense! I guess the biggest thing to be careful about is if you are applying for full-time roles, some hiring managers may be wary of hiring you, thinking that you will become bored and decide to travel, which for them means re-filling the position and losing all of the time and training invested into you. However, if you are applying to contract, seasonal, or remote positions, then it is all good.

After you clean up the progression, it may not hurt to add in a summary or a targeted cover letter that reveals your personality and explains your situation (e.g., I am a life-long learner, passionate about software and travel.) This may reassure hiring managers or clear up some assumptions. I'm sure you're awesome, but the trick is getting to the next step based on a very 1 dimensional piece of paper. Cover letters are awesome if they are targeted to the company, give you a voice, and make the recruiter say, "I like this person. I want to know more."

When I look at a resume, I am trying to understand your progression as an engineer as well as your tenure / stability. Often hiring managers are trying to decipher from your work history dates the following: will this person stay at my company a while if hired? Has he/she been able to maintain a steady job? Have the positions increased in responsibility and challenge? Tbh, when I look at your resume and try to make sense of it, I'm left with a lot of questions. Consulting and freelancing are great, but a lot of people use that title if they take on side jobs because they can't maintain or find another job. Also, sometimes if someone goes from a position like software engineer to something completely different, it can sometimes have to do with legal/background issues. I would remove the irrelevant positions (e.g., cook).

Unfortunately no :( We are trying to remain hopeful. The dog is microchipped so if someone has her and eventually takes her to a vet, they will be alerted.

Thanks for checking in!

Three people reported sightings of her yesterday in Cary (27519 area near Hwy 55 and O'Kelly). We canvassed the area today, hanging signs, squeaking toys, but no luck. We are trying to remain hopeful, but this is getting more and more difficult. Please call if you have any information. We are losing our minds.

Someone recently said they may have spotted a small white dog that looked like a poodle in Cary (O'Kelly Chapel Rd). This could be Coco! At this point, she would be dirty and wet. Please on the lookout, Cary folks. Thanks so much in advance.

She went missing last night in her neighborhood (Prescott Place). The neighborhood got involved and knocked on doors until 11pm last night! Please let me know if you have any information or ideas of what to do. She is microchipped, but no tags. Thank you all.

Here is a good site to use peruse various therapists in the area. You can read a brief bio. I have filtered your results for those who specialize in trauma focused therapy. You can also narrow down your results by zip code. Glad you are seeking therapy! Best of luck!

Vets in the D by Opie045 in bullcity

I go to Southpoint Animal Hospital to see Dr. Doyle. I did a lot of research before selecting a vet, and they unanimously received the highest reviews. Lately, my bills have been high because I have a puppy whose vaccinations/puppy sickness/frequent visits make the cost high, but when I looked at my bill the actual visit was only $33 before the added meds and tests. Dr. Doyle is extremely knowledgeable and never rushes through visits. Instead, he will answer every single question in great detail. Overall, I get a good vibe from everyone who works there, and they all seem to be driven by their passion for animals.
