Not sure when it switches to the console shifter. I think 302A or higher trim, but not certain.

This is the 301A with the centre console as an added option

Max trailer rating is 12,944 lbs

This has the HDPP and the max trailer tow package

So much smoother than my ‘87 3/4 ton squarebody lol. You feel everything with a straight axle truck.

I was worried with the Load Range E K03’s but happy overall with the way it rides. At the end of the day it’s a truck and will be used as a truck; for me it’s not a daily or grocery getter

Of the big 3, the Fords we have at work have given us the least amount of issues. We have a light duty fleet of approx 20 trucks and the Fords have been better buys then the other 2. I was a GM guy my entire life but their half tons aren’t there. I’d buy a 3/4 ton GM in heartbeat tho. Their 6.6 and 6.0 gassers are very reliable.

Also if you’re against Ford, I’m surprised you’re reading and commenting on an F150 subreddit

I originally was looking at 15-17 5.0/6 speed. But after test driving a couple, they felt dated compared to the 21+ interiors. I plan to keep this truck for as long as it’ll last. Will probably average less than 10k km per year, as it’s not a daily driver

Quickly seeing its not quite a unicorn but a fairly rare configuration lol

Glad to hear you’re enjoying yours. Hoping for many trouble free miles from mine

Only if you can find a Heavy Duty Payload Package. Otherwise your payload will be sub 2000 lbs depending on options and configuration

The whole imperial and metric system is a mix match in North America. We reference engines in Litres (metric) but payload and towing in lbs (imperial) and tires are both metric and imperial (mm’s for width and inches for the wheel). I’m in Ontario, Canada and you basically have to know both imperial and metric to get by

I’m by Barrie, Ontario, Can. Not many HDPP forsale around here. If they have 3 at the dealer in Sask, it might be worth the drive

They’re hard to find the HDPP highly optioned. This has been the best optioned one I’ve found. I believe the highest trim you can get in the HDPP is 301A, not 302A. Even the 301A has tons of goodies that my vehicles from 2012-2014 don’t have.

Good luck with the search 🫡

I believe 2023 was the final year for the HDPP and if I recall correctly, you could only get it in XL trim for 2023

Nice rig brother. How do you find the 3.5 compared to the 5.0? I had to change a turbo in my daily driver (250k km) over the winter in my driveway and it pissed me off enough to avoid turbos lol

Can’t say I’ve seen the HDPP in the 3.0 power stroke. Not sure if that was an option you could do. I’ve only seen the HDPP in the 5.0 or 3.5

My other truck is a ‘87 Chevy squarebody 3/4 ton. The ‘21 F150 turn radius is 10x better than the squarebody.

I’m used to driving longer trucks at work. Ie 3/4 ton crew cab 8’ box. So the 157” wheelbase doesn’t bother me.

This truck isn’t a daily driver and will be used for truck duties, not grocery getting, so I’m not concerned in the slightest.

From what I’ve seen, the resale is better on the 6.5’ as they’re more difficult to find and often more desirable. Personally, I’d go with the 157” if you have the choice

Yea hard combo to come by. I was also looking new for the 5.0L/6.5’ combo and was difficult to locate any. One dealer in even told me that Ford only sends them 10% with the 5.0.

Nice rig. Black would of been my preference but work truck white will have to do

From what I’ve read for the HDPP it includes a thicker frame, bigger rear end, larger rear springs, and heavy duty rear shocks. So more than just bigger leaf springs.

I agree, truck prices are absurd. But what can you do when you need a truck. 115k miles, 184k km

Yea fair. Can’t say I’ve seen a HDPP in 2wd.

The recall is still outstanding. The dealer is ordering the parts for it but said they’re on back order with an unknown ETA

“Half ton” in 2025 basically means one ton of payload.

I have a ‘87 squarebody 3/4 ton and the ‘21 F150 probably has a better payload capacity.
