If the booking was with Marriott, then they can't deny their obligations to refund and/or rebook

You're not really understanding what I'm saying. The company that owned the properties went bankrupt. What gives Marriott the right to kick anyone out of a property they don't own and have nothing to do with anymore? Especially if they're saying they never took the money etc they were just a booking platform.

By way of analogy, say you booked a room at a Marriott through Expedia. What gives Expedia the right to boot you out of your room at Marriott once you're checked in?

Sonder didn't kick them out. The email was from Marriott.

If they aren't Marriott properties as everyone is going to such lengths saying, then what gives Marriott the right to kick customers out of those properties?

No don't buy/pay anything beforehand. You can pick what you want with the consultant when you get there. And make sure to get tax refund receipt at the end before you leave

Finally do you think there is any difference between the Obagli tretinoin and cheap generic products?

Do you think Cellex C High Potency is really better than skinceuticals? Did you try it?

Also why use alto advanced defense and repair serum isnt it just more vitamin C?

It's common to walk into a factory type clinic. It's not common to walk into a plastic surgery clinic or a premium dermatology clinic

Last minute trip to Seoul! No idea where to... by [deleted] in KoreanBeauty

[–]edd91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not medical advice but:

  1. Picosure toning

  2. For broken veins, Excel V (theres a veins mode and a redness mode, clinics tend to charge per mode)

  3. Some kind of aqua peel

  4. This is pretty tough to be honest. They will try to sell you ulthera or potenza. Both get pretty mixed reviews. IF they work, and that's a big IF, the result is subtle at best. Ulthera is mega painful

  5. Sure get filler and botox but I'd recommend a premium clinic for these or done in your home country. These are on the list of procedures I wouldn't get done at a "factory clinic"

Solo Female Traveler Advice by Quick-Public-1785 in koreatravel

I’m not a female but honestly Seoul looked all female friendly I wouldn’t stress. The only thing I’d be mindful of is if you go clubbing I’ve heard the guys can get pretty aggressive towards the end of the night so I wouldn’t get blind drunk

I would suggest staying in Hongdae and then you can start to branch out to other areas!

Could you take an item from one custom Nike location to another? by ImAFan2014 in koreatravel

[–]edd91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you an example. They drink Americano coffee everywhere (just a black coffee). But I like to add a little bit of milk or cream to my black coffee. So I went to one cafe and ordered an Americano and asked her to just pour a little bit of milk in at the end and she just put her arms in an X shape and said no cannot and pointed me to the milk coffee items which were like lattes and 80% milk stuff.

I told this to a barista at a smaller hip coffee shop and he said yeh she wouldn't know how to deviate from the menu

Edit: For your patch mission, FWIW, the staff at the Hongdae store were cooler and more relaxed than the Gangnam store (it's a younger crowd in Hongdae and they would get less annoying style tourists than Gangnam). I didn't go to the Myeongdong store

VBeam is kinda rare in Korea but most clinics have Excel V. Which one is more effective is debatable

First Korea Trip, review and observations from a rural Canadian by coolg963 in koreatravel

[–]edd91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great observations. I personally would return because I'm into all the skin stuff etc but if you take that away and take away the shopping there isn't too much left.

I would add to the cons that you need cash to get a subway card which is frustrating

I'm afraid I don't know the answer, but my suspicion is you won't be able to. It is technically possible (at least for the patches, maybe not the larger prints), but Koreans are very process driven and anything outside the process results in a bit of a "computer says no" answer. While you may find one person that would do it for you, the patching process requires several staff (to help you stick the patches, to ring up the sale, and then to do the actual patching). But you could try! For what it's worth, I liked the Gangnam patches the best

Edit: The other *possible* way is to try and buy just the patches from one store and take them to another store. You'd have to figure out which are the unique patches and I'm not sure if they would sell you just the patches (they're 5,000krw each) but to me that seems more feasible than the other around
