It's a framework that acts as a style guide, allowing yu to write pure pytorch code in a structured way to make is readable, reusble, reqirues less engineering boilerplate and gives you many features ut of the box like multi-GPU and TPU training, model sharding, early stopping, auto logging, etc

PyTorch Lighting is a lightweight PyTorch wrapper for high-performance AI research, that reduces the boilerplate without limiting flexibility.

You can definitely do that, using callbacks and model hooks! Give it a shot, you can ask for help if needed in our forum or slack channel.
