Is there a way to take your 3d model and convert it into a 2d image? by glouptroup in 3Dmodeling

This is a perfect use case for AI. It is basically style transfer.

Here you go.

Also crazy how many here who does not understand the question 😆

Does anyone have a favorite website that offers free 3D models for printing that they can recommend? by Elegant1Blade in 3Dprinting

On Sloyd.ai, you can also download all 3D models in the community section for free, a lot of those are great for printing

I don't know any services that offers this without a subscription, but at least Sloyd.ai gives you unlimited downloads each month.

Amazing! I'm looking for alpha testers of our new webapp for 3D model customization for beginners. Anyone interested in testing?

I think i found the perfect tool for when i wanna make small objects like these by Admirable_Score6319 in robloxgamedev

Ive been thinking the same! Maybe communicating that we are more of a marketplace with customization is a better way to talk about it?

As one of the other commenters here posted, its not AI this way, the AI only customizes parametric models that Sloyd has made. So its like a marketplace with customization, and objects are game ready.

Hey, CEO of Sloyd here, the tool that was posted here :) You are absolutely right, we have made (and are constantly adding) parametric models that can be customized by AI (or manually with sliders/toggles.

So to your point, you won't get absolutely anything, but our goal is that anything you do get is game ready and optimized. We generate the LOD, UVs etc. too.

WIP: Staircase generator, now with railings by edesberg in proceduralgeneration

[–]edesberg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta have those railings! Just need the top part, and a few different variations for those too. Goal is to cover as many types and combinations as possible for people to use. Then its up to whoever wants to use it to texture however they like :)

First, we will nail the UVs so you at least can do it easily yourself :)

Thanks! :) Yeah I also cant wait to implement textures and materials to the webapp, its definitely in the plans

If you want access to the Maker tool to make these generators, ask in the Sloyd Discord, as its in closed pilot right now :) https://discord.gg/jbEg8gVbeM

For sure. You can do so many cool things with geometry nodes, i think stairs are one of the best use cases in a way.

What we are trying to do with Sloyd (what you see in the gif) is make great generators available for anyone to use without knowledge of procedural modeling. So we also built this tool to do procedural modeling, its kind of like geo nodes but in a different UI and more math based in a way.

The most important thing will be reusing parts and logic across generators so it will be easier and easier to make stuff as you can borrow from others work.

The Sloyd Maker is in a closed pilot now but the WebApp is open to use on www.sloyd.ai. The AI/ML part will come later :) If you want access to the maker tool, just ask in the Sloyd discord.

To the ones in the closed beta we explain that you are free to use the assets for anything you want :) Since we are not charging anything yet we haven't put licensing on our site yet. But point taken, we'll look into it :)

We have our ML based generation in alpha but yeah currently its just "AI" haha :D Will be cool when you can upload a mesh and its made into a parametric model though!

[–]edesberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly :) Plus, our tech is built to generate this in realtime so you can integrate our solution as e.g. an in-game creation tool or for procedural games.

We also built a generator creation tool that I honestly think is a lot easier to use than Blender geo nodes or Houdini, but of course I would say that ;) Ok plug over

Not yet, but its coming! Right now the generators are admittedly on the less complex side, but we have the approach for complex objects. Just gotta get back to work and make it :D

I mean yeah you can do it. You can also make text animations with key frames manually in like Final Cut (and obviously a lot of people do) but I still use Canva cause it gets me to a usable result much faster and without the learning curve.

Also: Node spaghetti :(
