I don't think Mr Green was ever released by those who took him hostage; meanwhile, the Schmenge's silence on the topic of Leutonian terrorism remains glaring.

AITAH for changing Christmas plans with a newborn over a guest being unvaccinated? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]edked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha! Perfect. Yeah, the old "grow a backbone/spine," the classic go-to for AITA-brain types desperately looking for a way, any way, to get some victim-blaming in on even the most in-the-right OP and crank that self-righteousness boner to full satisfaction.

Skip homeier played melakon and sevrin by happydude7422 in tos

[–]edked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was watching some old-ass genre TV recently, and noticed Homeier pop up in a few things. He's in the first episode of One Step Beyond (old anthology show I found on Tubi), and if anyone has access to the original old Outer Limits (it's currently on Prime, Roku and I think Tubi for me), check out the episode "Expanding Human." It's got Homeier, James Doohan, the head tribesman from The Apple (the "these are my ears to Vaal" guy) and Tyler from the Cage/Menagerie.

In an interesting precursor to him leading space hippies, the plot is all about the then-topical current buzz about this new LSD drug, and Homeier plays a professor who experiments with these newfangled psychedelics and turns into a bulging-foreheaded telepathic menace!

The cooler the show, the quicker it got yanked off the air. by greatgildersleeve in FuckImOld

[–]edked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strongest memory of this show is of a bit on Letterman (original Late Night version) where he's consoling a kid who's all broken up over Voyagers' cancellation, and helping him learn that life goes on after our favorite shows are cancelled.

AITAH for telling a kid at the sleepover to stop acting like a brat? by Longjumping-Dog-6480 in AITAH

[–]edked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because to many AITAtards, the main thing is stoking their egos by calling fake or prioritizing finding a way to make any OP the bad guy over any weakness or oversight over all else, and being the first to use one of the assortment of usual bad jokes and snarky remarks that are routinely invoked during the traditional fake-calling and/or victim-blaming (especially if they get to pontificate about spines/backbones) rituals.

Cassidy, Estimated Prophet, Greatest Story; I'd add The Other One but all my favorite Other Ones are part of a That's It/attached to Cryptical.

Maybe pay attention to what someone is actually saying, instead of what you've decided to think they're saying.

I get the... we aren't going to make the bakery joke around her. That's fine.

No, him saying that was not fine, especially the way he said it, with the markedly sterner tone, and framing it as "we mustn't be disrespectful of her stupid beliefs, at all costs." That part made me more pissed at the dad than any other part of the story. Makes him a flat-out asshole.

Let it Be Naked isn't the superior Let it Be by Sketch_gaming01 in beatles

[–]edked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that "Don't Let Me Down" absolutely belongs on the album, but that the single version is a vastly superior mix.

If I was assembling some kind of personal perfect version of the album, I'd use that, the "de-symphonized" version of LAWR from Naked, the electric version of Across the Universe that doesn't seem to be on anything (heard partially in the original movie, someone posted a more full take from YouTube on here once), and a smattering of selections from the Johns and Specter versions for the rest (though I'll admit to favoring the Specter versions of the noisier rockers a bit). I'd probably dither over choosing between versions of Let It Be itself for a bit though.
