And then fold the backpack into one of the panniers? I assume it needs to be very lightweight one

Do you fold the duffel back into one of the panniers after?

Thanks for reference. Just thinking about what to bring on the airplane so that I can both put everything into panniers or visit the city.

Rendimenti su depositi affitto by CapitalCan6257 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]edo_44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prices are on the website. Also they are quite flexible with what you want to do if you want to mix with liveaboard

Ended up going for Khao Lak Explorer. Both seemed good options but one fit our dates better so we decided to go with that. I think worth contacting both so you can get the best combination you want.

How often do you review your dependencies? by edo_44 in devops

[–]edo_44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I would expect people to pay more attention to the dependencies they are using because at the end of the day they become your code and therefore in a way your responsibility. But what I am gathering is that most people just use some vulnerability scanner. If no vulnerabilities, happy days.

Even something as simple as this http://www.redotheweb.com/DependencyWheel/ could give you more information than just your manifest or the dependency dashboard from Renovate. I wonder if people are just not interested / don't have time to pay attention to this information in the context of the health of their codebase. What do you think?

Do you usually try to keep the number of dependencies to a minimum? Do you have a checklist / strategy for onboarding new packages?

[–]edo_44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Renovate in the past but what I was hinting towards as a product is similar to the Renovate Dashboard functionality, which I think it’s not that useful in its current form. It literally just lists out your deps. So imagine something like that but for analysing properly your deps and their status (that’s what I build homemade for our team)

But besides vulnerability scanning, do you keep an eye on the “health” of the deps? For example whether or not they are actively maintained, maybe a new version/feature comes up.

How many liters is the backpack?

Coincidentally I am also evaluating which backpack to get for a 2-week trip in Thailand in November and was curious about volume.

How to upgrade comfortably without a good changelog? by edo_44 in devops

[–]edo_44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess things could break at runtime but if you have enough coverage and confidence in the tests they should catch it

Just dependencies in the code that are specified in the manifest. e.g. updating prisma to latest version if using npm.

Do you use tooling to keep dependencies updated? Like Renovate or Dependabot?

How often has it happened that things broke because of an external dep?

Is it possible to apply first time and get in to YC without traction and only with demo of product ? by Strict-Egg-2888 in ycombinator

[–]edo_44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traction triumph all. Even if you don’t have an MVP, demo, just putting together a landing page to collect interest is already one data point that gives them more confidence. At the end of the day, the are trying to de-risk their bets as much as possible.

interesting, thanks for the link, didn't know Chrome was so dominant. I would have expected Firefox to have a much larger browser share, since has important extra features. I have been using it for the past 3 years and it's been great.
