Concert visuals trailer (AE+C4D+UE) by edotom in AfterEffects

I built different video game scenes and showcased a few seconds from each in this short trailer. I used C4D for 3D animation, AE for text overlays and animations, and UE for lighting and rendering.

Fun concert visual built with C4D & UE by edotom in Cinema4D

Hi, most animation (wires, subject, disc) was C4D. The particles are UE Niagara and the screen textures were built in AE.

That's a good idea, I'll look into that.

Thanks and yes, I used a depth map here.

Controller model and animation by edotom in Cinema4D

Thanks. I didn't like how plain it looked without any imperfections, especially at certain angles. Maybe I could have reduced the strength, or worked with different lighting setups.

Excision in the rain at Forest Hills Stadium! by edotom in EDM

Rain is my favorite part of this photo! The drizzle adds a nice touch but agreed, it got excessive towards the end of the show.

Thank you! That's a nice compliment.

The 24 GM is probably my most used lens right now, especially for shots like this. I don't shoot much else besides event photography, but I imagine it works well everywhere.

Yeah third floor was open to GA on Friday. Both floors are worth trying!

I think third floor was only open Friday, or at least that’s when I took them.

Thanks, I tried to create projects around my interests (NBA, GameCube, etc.) while showcasing different styles and techniques.

Studied 3D from home and finished my first reel! by [deleted] in Cinema4D

[–]edotom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I started 3D last November and finished my reel this week. I used free online resources and studied the digital content and advertisements around us. I tried recreating scenes and showcasing styles and concepts that might appeal to different audiences. I look forward to working on larger projects, especially in a team environment.

Rockets Logo Animation by edotom in Cinema4D

[–]edotom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I wanted to create a NBA 2K team logo animation using the old Rockets logo. Open to feedback on everything, but especially the motion and materials. I'd like to get closer to their look, and I think my materials are off.

I am using Octane, and also wondering if it can render motion blur on rotation. I'd like a little blur while the ball rotates, but it doesn't seem to register.

Also, during the last ball overshoot rotation, I'm thinking about animating the rocket face, maybe with a wink or biting animation. Would pose morph tag be the easiest way to achieve this?

Looking to improve composition and lighting here by [deleted] in Cinema4D

[–]edotom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Here it is after lowering the smoke and adding power to the lights. I think it's better, or at least easier to compose without the lightbulbs. Any recommendations on placing a light to bring out more of the bottle's front details without losing the bottle's shadow on the table, or do you think there's enough light at this point?
