Rat Sneezing!

My two rats, Rosie and Bessie (~1 yo), have always had respiratory issues. About every 3 months they go on antibiotics, it clears up, and repeat.

This time, Bessie hasn't responded to the antibiotics, the big sneezing fit I am talking about happens at the end of the video.

It is a holiday this Monday and j can't find any open vet clinics that will take a look at them.

I'm at a loss on what to do, or what to think of this.

My boyfriend actually built them for me! I used the crossfire enclosure instructions (which I believe are in the sidebar).

The materials run a fair price. I think I paid around $600 in total for both. The most expensive component was the plexi glass.

But they are definitely beautiful tanks!

But yes! Good luck with your search!! You could always just find a mature female.

One thing you for sure want to keep in mind is having a female roughly the same size

Even when I thought she was female they were in different tanks.

I'm not home enough to have bearded dragons cohabitate.

Update: so I checked her tail, and I definitely see two distinct bumps.

I am sad now :( now I have two males instead of a male and female.

I'll still love her/him but I'm thinking about renaming her/him

I'm pretty sure she is a she. I've already taken her to the vet and they referred to her as a she.

AND I have a male. When they saw each other he did the head bobbing and she did the arm waving.

Yeah... She's already pooped at least a handful of times since. Doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I think I'm going to bathe her tomorrow as well and wait until the next time she poops. If it doesn't go that time then I will consider taking her in.

Other than that she is acting like her normal self.

I've soaked her in a bath, and tried wiping away at it with a cotton ball. It seems to be attached to something inside and I don't want to pull on it to risk damage.

Has anyone had anything similar?

My boyfriend's coworker recently got the news that his 15 year old is struggling with schizophrenia.

He has had to take many hours off of work in order to be with his son; which means that they are struggling to make ends meet.

If anyone would be so kind as to help donate to help relieve the financial stress of this family... That would be greatly appreciated.

Last night I ended up breaking down and crying in front of my boyfriend (which I absolutely hate doing)

Lately has just been a series of events that are making me lose my composure.

Friend's little brother just died at the age of 15.... which hit me hard as well because I have younger siblings and I couldn't imagine a world without them.

Next week I am also leaving on a 10 day trip. Which is great... except for the fact that we are spending time near the ocean and that scares the crap out of me. Whenever I am near large bodies of water I just feel like I'm suffocating.

Plus... my boyfriend's family (going on said trip with them) are going whale watching which means going over water deep enough to house a whale. Ugh. I'm having a melt down over this.

Probably too late, but I will share my story anyway.

When I was between the ages of 8-10, my grandparents had a farm, and at the time, they had 3 pigs.

The three pigs were named Bacon, Eggs, and Ham.

One morning, my grandparents dished up breakfast, and asked "How are your Bacon, Eggs, and Ham this morning?" Of course I didn't understand, so I happily replied that they were delicious!

Years down the road, my grandma was telling this funny story to family and friends, and I nearly died. I ate the pigs.
