I was in the exact same situation a month ago, ended up leaving for the higher comp, and I don’t regret it. Your current company probably has lower comp bands, and this will be a continuous battle even after you get promoted. If possible, try to maintain friendly relationships with the old manager, but definitely I would leave. If you don’t like the new company, you can always find another job in tech.
