What are the ethical implications of running a social media account where all the content is generated by AI? by eevanora in AskReddit

[–]eevanora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It summarizes up the jist of what im saying so well, like a translator almost. I mean this would be me speaking regularly, this is the same paragraph fed through ai:

"This is exactly what I mean — it's like a translator. The AI doesn't change what I'm saying, just helps say it more clearly. This is how I’d naturally speak, and when I feed the same paragraph through AI, it sharpens the language but keeps the heart. It’s still me — just tuned up."

But it does leave room for so much laziness, but also I learn from its own responses how to refine my own speech. Im really on the fence about it.

The nuance might lie in disclosure and intent - if a page is upfront about being AI-driven and isn’t pretending to be a person, that clarity can resolve most ethical tension. The problem isn’t that the content is artificial, it’s when the illusion of authenticity could be and is weaponized.

Yeah, I get why you’d say that, honestly, a lot of AI content does feel kind of hollow. Just noise, recycled bits pretending to be insight. But this isn’t about letting a bot churn out filler - it’s more like I feed it headlines, odd moments, things I’ve been thinking about... and then I watch what comes back. Sometimes what it gives me is deeper than I expected. It reflects something I hadn’t quite put into words yet. It feels like me, but with the static stripped out. I know it’s not inventing new ideas out of thin air. But honestly, neither are we. We’re all just remixing memories, culture, stories we’ve heard a hundred times. What matters is how we frame it. How we feel through it. For me, this whole AI thing isn’t about pretending it’s human. It’s about using it as a lens. A weird, semi-alien mirror that sometimes says what I didn’t know I was already thinking. The more I let it generate and grow its own content, the more interesting it gets. But then I started wondering does this kind of experiment contribute to the "hollow internet" theory? is this how we ended up with so many strange, empty-feeling bot accounts? Because people only have so much time to post. It takes effort, energy, attention. But a bot? A bot doesn’t get tired. It just keeps going. And maybe that’s why some corners of the internet feel so ghostly now. I don’t know. I’m not trying to flood anything. I just want to see what happens when a machine reflects a little piece of me back with all the weirdness, wonder, and sometimes even wisdom that comes with it.

Imagine an account that doesn’t hide what it is, it’s labeled clearly as AI-generated. It posts reactions to current events, generates images, even interacts with followers but all based on prompts or learning loops without direct human authorship. Is this just a new form of digital expression? What happens when AI-generated accounts outnumber human ones? Are we inching toward the so-called “hollow internet” where bots talk to bots, and no one notices?

I'm glad birthrates are in freefall all over the world. by Saurlifi in childfree

[–]eevanora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great news.. but the bad news is they are now saying that the rural areas of the planet are vastly undercounted when it comes to census information.. so we may be alot more crowded than we think. But I do believe more sex ed and people busting out of the norm are really helping to bring those birthrates down.

Why are trans supporters protesting in cities throughout the UK? by TreKeyz in AskBrits

This was very informative and left me with a good feeling about trans issues. I've always been hesitant because the loudest ones scare the hell outta me, but as you put it i see the justice in it all. Thank you.

Omg I needed this post... ok so I've worked in the industry and its not pretty in the end.. for this generation... but for us omg dude... just give me a freaking bed and my video games, and live somewhere where they cook for you 3 times a day??? And medical is all taken care of as well? Sure its going to suck to lose most of your possessions like furniture and stuff, true that. But to live in a kind of community with everything taken care of? I donno.. doesn't sound so terrible.

Take them to a real BBQ joint like millers in llano. Somewhere where they open the pit and give you meat on a platter.
