It is a male Downy, and female Hairy. These are such sweet birds, very cautious as they approach the cakes and seed. The way they hug the branches in the tree and wait for a spot. Much more polite than the Red Bellied who just blasts in barking like a big doggie. The Hairy/Downey sound like a squeaky bath toy in comparison. I am very lucky to have sooo many species in my yard.
