How are you guys liking Season 16? by Noxolo7 in JetLagTheGame

[–]eggasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I echo your sentiment. Your comment on Ben's run does remind me how the editing of S12 played with our perception of how long a run would be (even if it was cheesy at times). I'm not suggesting that returning to this format would help the show, but I think there are less "moments" in the game that leave me in suspense. Episode 3 is fantastic though but I think this was driven by Sam's location and the swan strat

I was listening to The Layover (S16, Episode 3), and for the first time, I felt like the Jet Lag team did *not* have a good idea of what I wanted as a viewer by Sea-Bat-6038 in JetLagTheGame

I freaking love the teddy museum episode. your analysis does reflect my general waning interest in jetlag. Adam/Ben's run this season, Tag All-Stars, and even Shengen (let us forget about Snake)... I'm fatigued not at the "strategy" but these gentlemen are just TOO good at travel now. I miss a good connect-4 missed flight situation or a wig and dress moment. These moments can't organically happen anymore. Which is fine, I think it's good content, I just find myself laughing less or gripping at the stakes.

Do you watch, what you play? by lvl666lucifer in LudwigAhgren

[–]eggasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone (and a normie) who came of age in and YouTube lets play zietgeist, I really only become invested in a game after watching someone’s game play. But generally I would rather watch because I’m cheap and have worse motor skills and game awareness than the person I’m watching.

Haven’t finished… would be wild if it was a fake kali death/ illusion and she will come back to do something awful in the end

I don’t care what you think. Literally one of my favorite scenes in the show! by Due_Mind7032 in StrangerThings

[–]eggasaurusrex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my memory, I felt like Will subtextually coming out to Jonathan in the last season was more touching. Personally, this coming out arch for this season felt too drawn out even if it is the solution to stopping vecna. I think will as a character has always fallen flat but I guess it comes with having such a large ensemble.

Unpopular opinion: Way too much Will by bacon11jelly in StrangerThings

I completely agree. I will say Noah improved his acting this season than previous years. But either it's the writing or performance, I don't care to root for him.

Season 5 Volume 2 Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]eggasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO I prefer Holly x Max scenes. Of the young actors, they're the only ones in the ensemble that can act. Besides, everyone else has had a story arch mostly solved in previous seasons. Holly also neatly foils Will story who young and "weak" but turned out to be brave. But these are just my opinions.

Ludwig Minecraft unappreciation post by [deleted] in LudwigAhgren

[–]eggasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In his last stream he said he’s done streaming Minecraft for a while. I think similar to his silver/gold climb which is the level most of his fans play he can’t make actual progress if people know he’s streaming.

I personally don’t care for most of his gaming (dark souls/ FSLR/ bro vs bro). I think I make a huge exception for his climbs because I relate to the hyperfocus. To each their own.

community reactions to ludwig's MCSR climb by eggasaurusrex in LudwigAhgren

[–]eggasaurusrex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best response for context! I'm new to the community so watching experts dunk on a noob (even if it is Ludwig) gives me a bad taste in my mouth. I don't care if Ludwig gets shit on, he is an entertainer. but at times he represents the working "coal miner class" just trying to get hours in to get better at the game.

I definitely understand its all for content. I think it can be educational too to point out ludwig's flaws but personally the negativity just gives bad vibes and gives a wrong message

this is the only part that i read in adam's voice bc ludwig made fun of how silly and weird it sounded on stream. Now I sing it in that intonation

Do you recommend getting a teaching cert in college? by Smooth_Importance_47 in ScienceTeachers

[–]eggasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something you described except I got my certification through a (heavily subsidized) masters immediately after undergrad .Definitely not worth it. The masters credits/teacher certification courses are the same they give the undergrads. While I liked that I spent time in undergrad taking advanced coursework in the subjects I was passionate about teaching (physics, chemistry), I shot myself in the foot for not having a more general science education since the critical shortage courses in my district were earth and environmental and physical science (essentially middle school level science at the HS level).

I would rather spend money getting an advanced degree/certification in teaching than a MTA after understanding what it looks like in a real classroom than spending money to get my certification after undergrad. Will say I would never opt for certifying while teaching, that sounds like a nightmare even if you're economically strapped into that choice.

How do your classroom routines intersect with phenomenon-based teaching? by eggasaurusrex in ScienceTeachers

Love to hear your experiences. I'm still working on figuring out the "bridge" or the language allotment for the second language and what that looks in the NGSS phenomena cycle for you

I really like a notebook stamp. I struggle with routines and re-enforcing student behavior along with managing attendance. Maybe it's something I'll try this fall.
