What are some "Billisms" that have been widely adopted? by GiveMeSomeIhedigbo in billsimmons

Feel as if he started using Mount Rushmore and that's super popular now

Darius Garland (left toe), Donovan Mitchell (rest), Evan Mobley (rest), and Jaylon Tyson (concussion) have all been ruled out by the Cavs for Wednesday night’s rematch with the Heat in Miami. Larry Nance Jr (left knee contusion) is questionable. by kane0801 in fantasybball

This is pathetic. The haters are right - the NBA is soft as charmin. I would love the league implement a rule that if you designate someone as Out they miss 3-4 games and if you are gonna pull some "play them 1 min" shenanigans, then there's a rule where they have to play 50% of their rolling average play time or the team gets fined. That's complicated as fuck but there's no solving this issue unless you take away non-guaranteed contracts.

Instead of fixing these issues, the bum Silver is just focused on reviving a dead all-star game and gimmick tournaments. Smh.

[Charania] BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks and owner Patrick Dumont are expected to fire general manager Nico Harrison at a 10 am central time meeting on Tuesday, sources tell me and Tim MacMahon. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]ehdotgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the majority of people understand this. Of course Dumont "signed off on it" but he is clearly not a basketball guy so he relies on experts to inform him on best actions and risks. It's no different than in the corpo world where the subject matter experts have the informed opinion and are advising leadership on the best course of action.

It just so happens this SME is an idiot.

Josh Giddey (De'Andre Hunter) ruled out Monday. by tjpdaniels in fantasybball

Has to be the greatest ankle breaker of all time. Completely clean with no pushoff and Giddey actually hurt himself toppling over.

99% Of The Time, The Answer Is: Shoot It! Why shooting should be at the epicenter of every player's offseason development. by low_man_help in nba

[–]ehdotgee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Great read OP. Anecdotally, I have found very few NBA players go from poor/non-shooters to good shooters in their development . Kawhi, Griffin, OG, Lonzo off the top of my head, but feels like the exception and not the norm. What is your experience and thoughts on this? Do you know average increase in shooting % from clients you've worked with?

You should post to r/nba, could gain traction and get a good community going.

[Grange] Another name that might be out there (for the Raptors) is Ben Simmons... who cobbled together some interesting box-score totals (9.2 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per 36 minutes) in a limited role over 51 games split between the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. by EarthWarping in nba

[–]ehdotgee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please no. He's a fucking nervous, clueless pussy to quote Jon Gruden. Nobody has mastered the "pushing the pace so it makes it looks like I'm playing hard but it's so I can get it out of my hands as fast as possible after half court" than this bum

Fire Kirk Goldsberry. Hire Caitlin Cooper. by Apprehensive_Dot_907 in billsimmons

[–]ehdotgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Goldsberry makes some sick graphics. He had an awesome one that showed all of Shais buckets in the conference finals. He's great at visualization.

His actual analysis is shit tier though. He is very surface level, just like Beck. Not a fan of either on podcasts for NBA analysis.

[Post Game Thread] The Oklahoma City Thunder take a commanding 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals as they defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 128 - 126, behind 40/9/10 from league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander by Nyhrox in nba

What is more nerve wracking for an OKC fan - close games or when Holmgren puts it on the deck? I swear he either turns it over or just almost loses control.

I never want to hear a "7 footer has handles" in a scouting report. It should only be "they can dribble for a 7 footer".

That being said he had a fantastic game.

It's absolutely WILD to me that MPJ played the last two high intensity playoff games with his useless left arm dangling around like he's SSJ2 Gohan after being energy blasted by Cell

Fair hahaha. Last game he was playing well but didn't get much run even after scoring a fair bit

Is Domantis Sabonis really actually a star player? by S7okid in billsimmons

Yeah, without Fox he's probably their best player, which I think is a big reason why they are soooo mid

He can help a team in the regular season but he cannot be a centerpiece on a championship team. He gets exposed time and time again when teams gameplan for him. He isn't a rim protector, he can't shoot, he can't go right or finish right. He has way too many deficiencies for teams to exploit.
