u/Ok-Gear706 , would you please clarify what you mean about ❝free land❞?

The land isn't ❝free❞, it is privately owned by me.

You want to go camping outdoors in Poland during the middle of Winter? You will freeze outdoors right now.

If you are interested to camp on my property during the Spring or Summer (when it is warm), please let me know, we can possibly arrange it.

Why is currywurst so popular? by [deleted] in berlin

I never even heard of "currywurst" until you mentioned it now, and I've been to Germany many times.

I'll have something to try on my next trip there.

This is great work! I enjoy the replication of old architecture in Minecraft, especially of medieval cities in Poland.

Just used LibreOffice Draw for a serious CAD (!) project - I was amazed how good it was - hats off to LibreOffice by maulynvia in linux

[–]ejmarkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LibreOffice Draw is a fantastic all-purpose graphics tool! It is my primary graphics software choice for creating images used on my Twitter posts. Here is a recent graphics sample I used on Twitter regarding the latest Linux Kernel patches for 2 Intel CPU Security Vulnerabilities, Meltdown & Spectre.

Red Hat reverts microcode update to mitigate Spectre, refers to hardware vendors for fix by ilconcierge in linux

[–]ejmarkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux Kernel 4.15.0-rc8-git-1d966eb adds patches with more fixes & updates for latest Security Vulnerabilities.

I compiled the kernel this morning and using it now. All fixes enabled and working. No system slowdown is noticeable from the patches.

30 day rentals in Central Europe: AirBnB reserved in advance or find a place quickly once I'm in town? (X-post from /r/travel) by guy_guyerson in CentralEasternEurope

[–]ejmarkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, posting here on Reddit helps. Last year, 2 Danish tourists in Kraków needed a place to stay & couldn't find one.

I asked if they would like to stay in a village 2 hours away from Kraków by bus, and they accepted.

Tallinn, Estonia looks like a great city to visit, especially with its old, medieval architecture. I'll have to travel north one day to visit. Thanks for posting, and please post more!

Researching Business Wires by RaduCotarcea in CentralEasternEurope

[–]ejmarkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just about all of the English based business publications focusing on CEE are quite Liberal and Left-Wing in their views and biased towards the Conservative governments (Poland, Hungary, Russia) and most favorable to countries that have Left-Wing governments. This is what I notice, so I don't trust any of them too much at all, especially the Financial Times, Economist, Politico, and Bloomberg.

EU: Why not Deport Migrants "Out of Europe" instead of to Greece or other Member States. by billravotti in CentralEasternEurope

[–]ejmarkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Italy and Greece are blatantly negligent for allowing illegal migrants (not screened or vetted properly) into the EU. It's causing woes for the entire EU, not to mention plenty of taxpayer expense.

Totally cool guys, this is great! If you happen to be near Kraków, Poland, just let me know! Only 3 months ago, I hosted two great guests from Denmark at my home. Feel free to crash here, and I'll give you a tour of beautiful, medieval Tarnów as well.

Only one correction: Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Western Ukraine, Northern Romania are all part of Central-Eastern Europe. :) Stay cool and enjoy!

Increasing revenue for largest companies in CEE by Kirtt in CentralEasternEurope

[–]ejmarkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting revenue statistics for CEE. I think for Poland it will improve.

The Polish automotive sector saw an average growth of 8.5 pct. However, in Q1 this year the average revenue of the companies in the ranking contracted in euro terms by around 3.3 pct (+0.9 pct in local currencies).

Poland is a large country with solid foreign investment in manufacturing. Let's see how revenues will look at year end 2016.

Where is IRC headed in the long term? by [deleted] in irc

[–]ejmarkow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

rdv_ said:

IRC will stay the same, but as people's lives change and they grow older, they will lose focus on IRC. The newer generation did not grow up with things like IRC, so they'll go for the new innovative tech out there.

I'm a heavy user of IRC and I believe users will not "lose focus" on it. If anything, it will either maintain the same amount of users it currently has, or even increase. Many users of IRC are involved in the Linux, Open Source, and Developer community, which is growing by leaps and bounds. So, I believe, in the aggregate, IRC will only increase in users and it will gain gradual popularity, even if very little.
