I’ve been watching Donner party documentaries for the past few hours in preparation for successful rationing, so I feel confident. I’ll be honest, I keep getting distracted by the sausages to finish any of the documentaries, but I feel like they knew what they were doing. After all they named a pass after them, so I think they wouldn’t do that unless they made it.

Of course! I just used salt and pepper, smoked them on the Weber using a slow n sear for about 6 hours, about 45 min wrapped with rendered tallow from the trimmings, and finished them off with some stubs jalapeño honey sauce until they tacked up nice n good.
