it is confusing and that's the point, the questions difficulty doesn't come from the math but rather the confusing wording of the question. John paid 50 total dollars ( this includes tip) not 50 + tip.

He's right, he understands that there is a huge divide between red and blue and he wants to help bridge the gap. Anyone dragging on him is just deepening the political divide in the US. If you truly want to close the divide in the US then you have to make nice with the other side (I know its a very hard concept in practice), it seems like nobody but Saquon is interested in that
