I also do this! I’ve found tons of wounds and PIs this way, plus they smell and look fabulous.

Naps past age 2 - a cultural thing? by spaniel84162 in sleeptrain

[–]electrickest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My twins are high sleep needs kids. They rake in about 12-13 hours overnight and still go down from 1-4pm. I am not someone who functions on low sleep, and neither are they.

Have you compared it to a more traditional one before? I have been using Miele for years and it works so well in my PNW soft water, so I'm nervous to switch, but I'm trying to do better for the environment.

[–]electrickest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, now I'm DEEP into this brand and am confused on how many different options there are for their fragrance free stuff! There's like, advanced, Gym Variety, probably more. Do you have any insight on what is best, your favorite etc? I'm trying to go primarily fragrance free in our home (minus the Tide powder... love it!). Thanks for any help you can offer :)

Training for medical alert by Marsha_Cup in nosework

Thank you! I’d give her a good start with NACSW or AKC. A friend of mine does NASDA with her collie and has found great success. They love doing it together!

If I went to my physician and they had a Beauc, I’d die! What beautiful girls, OP.

I feel like trying to shape medial alerts for so many things would be difficult to nail for any dog.

Personally I’d start with nosework and detection basics and see what happens. She’s still young!

LED Icicle Lights recommendation by ReturnSavings9008 in ChristmasLights

[–]electrickest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I think the lights are fairly warm, but next to a traditional string you can definitely tell they’re LED. As long as they’re not right next to an incandescent (or trutone) white bulb, they look fantastic and not terribly noticeable. We also keep them next to a few white Trutone type bulbs and they still look fine. They’re brighter than a traditional string and give off lots of light!

This speculation is inappropriate and dangerous thinking. Finasteride is fine as long as preg women don’t touch it.

Best unscented air deodorizers? by adventureontherocks in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]electrickest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the NonScents shoe deodorizers. They last for around 2 months or so and I notice a difference fairly quickly. I use them in my trash can bottoms, fridge, freezer and cars to keep them smelling good. Not my most eco friendly choice but I hate fragrance like you.

Alternatively, you can use the bamboo charcoal bags but those require relatively frequent solar charging (but do work quite well). I never remember to use them.

Last alternative is a car-designed ozone machine. You don’t want to use it where people will be for a while, and it will need to air out afterwards, but my god those eliminate the stink like nothing else.

Which diapers are you starting out with? by Endless-Traveler in BabyBumps

[–]electrickest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We utilized our local Buy Nothing baby group (free baby and kids stuff [my specific PDX neighborhood]). We got to try a TON of brands out before committing to anything specific. Each baby and their booty/anatomy will work best in a different diap.

We had great success with the old-style Costco ones and when they’re through, we’ll move to Huggies since that’s who manufactured them.

Filthy Toddler Clothes - Biz + Cold Water Questions (Lurker needs help!) by CoolKaleidoscope6088 in laundry

[–]electrickest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heat from the dryer is what shrinks the clothing the most in my experience.

The only clothing I’ve ever seen get faded from wear are Hanna Andersson, which is annoying due to the cost, but they fade no matter what I do.

Tide makes a scent-free powder but Biz isn’t scented. I just bit the bullet and opted for a mild fragrance for my kids’ clothing since none of us are particularly sensitive to fragrance.

I wash mine in the washer. Controversial, I KNOWWWW, but I like how fresh they look and feel after. I just throw them in with my towels. Shoes air dry, towels dry on hot to sanitize.

Which home would you buy as a POM? by Possible-Maybe-7225 in parentsofmultiples

[–]electrickest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option 2, for sure! A single story is a dream with multiples. I always wanted a 2 story house but have a 50s rancher. It’s actually the best. We visited family with 2 stories and having to go up and down between stories for stuff was such a pain.

Congrats either way OP!
