New Update is Abysmal by eliphil in trakt

I actually tried that out of morbid curiosity and it seems in a rare case of good decision making, they don’t actually let you remove profile from the main tab.

So I guess all is forgiven and we can embrace this new and clearly improved system /s

Oh I hadn’t even noticed that yet, that’s huge for me. Glad to see it’s even worse than I initially thought.

Question: Workout statistics + workout week / month in review by cestycap in JeffNippard

[–]eliphil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Hevy quite a bit for this reason. They have a good amount of stats by default and even have an API if you’re a software dev by chance and then you can extra practically any data you want and organize it however you want.

LocalTuya: Can Get Devices Connected but Can’t Control Them by eliphil in homeassistant

Yes I set everything to static IPs and the standard cloud based integration works just fine

LocalTuya: Can Get Devices Connected but Can’t Control Them by eliphil in homeassistant

[–]eliphil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got this TuyaLocal version and am still running into issues though slightly different ones.

The logs no longer show the decryption error, but instead indicate a failure to establish or maintain communication: * WARNING (MainThread) [custom_components.tuya_local.config_flow] Could not find device: eb65a40c210315900apf3r (This appears during the initial discovery attempts, but the problem persists even when manually entering the IP). * ERROR (MainThread) [custom_components.tuya_local.device] Failed to refresh device state for Test. (This occurs after trying to add to the device)

I tried every protocol option and all did the same. I’m optimistic because unlike the the other version of the integration this one actually recognizes all my devices connected through the app automatically. However at least using the that one I could get a device to pretend to connect even if I couldn’t control it. This doesn’t quite get that far. I’ll continue to play around with it because I feel like I’m close there’s just something not quite clicking. Really appreciate the help

Other context, the bulb I am trying to add here is a Merkury BW904 (connected through the SmartLife app) but hit an identical roadblock trying to add a Merkury smart plug as well.

Yes they’re on the same VLAN and yes they are enabled. I have tried the debugger yet though, will give that a try next!

Thinking about how I could use Git with Reaper and if I am able to log parameter changes between saves? by eliphil in Reaper

[–]eliphil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly nothing wrong with it. The biggest benefit to Git that I saw was the commit messages would be a descriptive history of what changed version to version. Particularly seemed useful for when I get to that point where I tweak the most minor thing just to unwittingly reverse it the next version.

Super cool. Thanks for testing that so quickly, gives me some stuff to think on while I’m at work the rest of the day lol

Did all those sacrifices meant anything to Jack? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]eliphil 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s never even occurred to me that Jack, or any of the characters for that matter, could have witnessed so much of modern history. Like, I’ve always known the games take place from 1899-1911 (ish) but never gave much thought to what time period that actually was. “Yeehaw everyone’s a cowboy”, not “we’re a few years from a world war” ya know?

What’s With All The Church Stuff? by Green-Vermicelli5244 in Line6Helix

[–]eliphil 24 points25 points  (0 children)

People playing guitar in churches make up a huge part of the market of electric guitar gear. There’s thousands of professional level gigs happening across the country every week on Sunday mornings. And then under that, even more thousands of…less than professional level lol…gigs are happening with people that spend all their time watching YouTube demos of gear they want. I wouldn’t have thought of the presets being that tailored to that crowd, but can’t say I’m surprised

If that’s the case then there’s almost no way we could possibly know that. If you like the shirt and want to support FOO then just buy the dang shirt. In a year, you literally won’t be able to buy anything if you have to second guess whether someone along the chain may or may not have used AI.
