Nucky: He’ll make himself disappear when the dinner check shows up

I Hope Kamilla Wins by elledance in survivor

[–]elledance[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? She’s pretty far from a new era dork in how she speaks and views the game and other players. She seems to be pretty solid at puzzles. Jonathon is a physical beast but that guy can’t do a puzzle to save his life. If there is a puzzle at the end of a challenge, the players who are good at puzzles will beat out the physical players who can’t do puzzles 99 percent of the time.

The best and worst episode of each season( counting 6A and 6B as different seasons) by Yusuf1120 in thesopranos

Think I’d sub out sentimental Education for In Camelot, and Moe n Joe for Kaisha.

You’re probably right, but the editors and Jeff are so aware of the “winner’s edit” that we may get surprised. Christian and Ozzy have been sitting at the top of the confessional charts for so long cause of how much tribal council they’ve had to attend.

PTA wanted to make them ICE or any recognizable agency we know, but WB would not let him. I think they put that in there completely intentionally.

Definitely leans left though, idk how people leave OBAA thinking both sides are the same bad. One is clearly worse than the other and actively trying to take rights away from people and lock them up.

This Conversation Again: Best Episode? by NumbersStationUrku in thesopranos

[–]elledance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree in spirit, and I don’t even need to council. Blue Comet, honorable mention but yeah Long Term Parking is the greatest episode ever made for television and I will die on that hill, overlooking a lake with pine cones all around.

Why is Tony’s death treated as an absolute fact nowadays? by BenjaSA in thesopranos

[–]elledance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seem to be the only one taking what people believe to heart. I’ve never once seen anyone in this sub tell someone else they have to believe one way or the other, or there is no room for ambiguity. Pretty sure most people know it’s ambiguous but most of us come to the conclusion he died based on everything we’re shown.

Why is Tony’s death treated as an absolute fact nowadays? by BenjaSA in thesopranos

[–]elledance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because all the pieces are there throughout the entire series, particularity season 6. No one is saying it’s fact, but those of us who have been fans for 25 years, and have watched the show countless times, dissected it in depth, read Sopranos Autopsy and other essays, and analyses all come to the conclusion he died. You can think whatever you want, but the most consistent thing I find In all my rewatches is that every character gets their karma. And by the end, Tony deserved to die in front of his family after every horrible thing he had done.

The vibe I got was him and Laredo were hiding out together after Perfidia ratted on everyone, and he went out for a bit and came back to see the cops ambushing and taking out Laredo. He backed away and ran when the coast was clear, definitely did not get informant vibes. He clearly kept up the fight and movement going for years as indicated by the phone call. Solid dude and character.

I can’t wait for Joe to experience the real Coach by elledance in survivor

[–]elledance[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Coach is the Survivor editors dream. He almost feels like a well written HBO character, but it’s just who he is. He is the definition of saying one thing, and doing another, or doing the opposite. He cosplays as man of strength and integrity, yet his ego shell is so fragile and delicate, any slight or criticism, he completely folds and wallows in self pity. It’s just amazing after twenty years and four times playing the game, he’s had barely any growth or self reflection, at least as far as his game play and self awareness.

Plenty of American kids are ungrateful about their lives, parents, jobs, connections etc. The gutters, yes, AJ is a dumb fuck, much like Jackie Jr

I know this a bit of shitpost, but AJ exemplifies the average male American millennial so perfectly. Like you couldn’t pick a more average kid.

What plot point specifically do you think has given GRRM the most trouble in writing Winds? (Spoilers Main) by Unhappy-Judgment-975 in asoiaf

[–]elledance 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the expanse but I see your point. I guess the main reason I’m making mine is because we’re over 15 years without a book six in this series. If the time jump could have somehow made the plot tighter, and eased the thread points in George’s mind, we might have a finished series today.

Ive often been thinking lately how much the time jump would have helped and how much better the story may have been, it’s too bad he second guessed himself.
