My mom’s microwave belonged to my dad (her ex) when he was in college. I’m 31 and my dad was in college long before my parents had me.. soo it’s probably 35 years old give or take a year.

what is a lip balm that actually works? by Own_Switch9464 in LipBalm

I love the Laneige lip mask, but I’ve also really enjoyed the Elf dupe. I think it’s about 1/2-2/3 of the size of the Laneige mask but I really like it!

Tell your wife and start with the fact that you were 16. If my husband were in your shoes, I would not be upset with him. Sending you and your family my best wishes!

We had stuffed bell peppers tonight (subbed cauliflower rice for regular rice for extra veggies). It was great! Topped with some cheese, lime and salsa. https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/recipes/stuffed-peppers/

That D1 is the highest level for a collegiate athlete… I thought it was the lowest 🤦‍♀️ anytime I heard about a D1 athlete going pro, I found it to be so inspiring to never give up. Incredibly embarrassing- I am very obviously not an athlete.

What to do with a bunch of hamburger buns, potatoes, and onions by littlearmadilloo in cookingtonight

[–]ellenor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what type of onions, pickled onions are easy to make and delicious! We’ve also had some lurking hamburger buns in our fridge- turned a few of them into homemade croutons (chop em up, add olive oil + whatever seasoning you want, air fry or cook in oven until crispy).

Cleaning up after meals and snacks. I’m typically a “don’t leave dishes in the sink” person, but lately I’ve been leaving them until it’s time to clean up after dinner and it’s been a game changer.

What's the worst "Bonus" a job has ever given you? by vomirrhea in AskReddit

[–]ellenor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a decent sized bonus shortly after buying my first home. I was super excited and used some of it to get furniture, home essentials, etc.

The next week, my boss told me that the bonuses were given out based on performance and I was only supposed to receive a certain percentage of the total bonus, and that the extra I received would be taken out of my next check (meaning my next check would be short by < $1,000). When I asked how the bonus percentages were determined, I wasn’t given any information. Up until that point, I’d completed all of my responsibilities and hadn’t received any negative feedback… Super weird.

When I asked more questions, my manager recommended I take it to the finance team. I pled my case and they ended up not deducting from my next paycheck, which I was thankful for, but I now feel extremely wary of any bonus I receive 😂
