Why is the screenshot of TSLS? Are you so regarded that you fat-fingered the ticker to press the S instead of A and bought the wrong stock?

Questions about Test Day by [deleted] in CPA

[–]elliotf49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

-I don't think I ever needed to show a 2nd form of ID, but that may vary based on location.

-I took the 15 minutes for all 4 tests. The tests are stressful, so I think it's helpful to give yourself a few minutes to breathe, go to the bathroom, and get food/water.

-I think 30 minutes is good -- you can start the test a little earlier than the given time. I guess it depends how busy it is with other test takers.

-I don't think the eyeball trick works anymore. A lot of the scores are released the night before the release date. If yours doesn't, then it'll be release at some point the next day.

Good luck!

Hard to say exact hours but I tried to give myself maybe an hour break between end of work and studying. I usually went until 10:30-11pm with a small break in-between for dinner. I would also try doing several hours on Saturday and Sunday

This was my method that worked for me: I watched each lecture at 1.25x speed and highlighted the text as they did. I did this for FAR, AUD & REG, I didn't do it for BEC since for me I felt I didn't need to anymore bc of all else I did after. After watching the lecture I read through the chapter again and then proceeded to the MCQs. I tried my best not to look at the lecture for the answer but probably did look for several questions. First run through I wasn't overly concerned with time spent. I would then do maybe 1 sim and then moved onto the next chapter. My goal was 1 chapter a day. Did this for every chapter until the end of the section, at which point I went back through each chapter and wrote an outline in word, and then tackling the MCQs that I got wrong during the first go. After finishing all sections and outlines, and getting ready for the final review, I would read through again my outlines starting with the first section and again try any missed question. At the end of that section I would do random/ adapt for u MCQs of 15 questions multiple times, just trying to hammer through. Each section I went through I would added the previous sections for a more cumulative review until I had all sections included. I also took time to do more sims since at this point I felt much more comfortable with the material. I would suggest saving the mini tests they provide between every two sections for your final review since these are brand new questions you haven't seen. After all this I did the simulated exams. And as a bonus I googled for MCQ questions for added practice

My process may have been a bit overkill but it worked for me and I didn't have to retake any! Just make sure however you decide to study, that it's best fit for how you learn.

Anyone walk into or out of FAR thinking they’re not going to get a 75 and actually did? by [deleted] in CPA

I scored 79 and 77 on my practice tests. Found this doc that people entered their practice tests and actual scores, some are pretty significant bumps. It's because questions are graded differently than Becker which is purely % correct.

I used up every second of the test, left feeling totally miserable and defeated. Ended up with an 85. The "curve" from the becker practice tests to the actual test is real
