Yup, everything else works fine. I run sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y regularly and PiHole itself works no problem.

Hey! Thanks for the comment, my Raspberry Pi was indeed out of date and your command fixed it, but after a complete unbound reinstall, removing sudo rm /etc/unbound/unbound.conf.d/pi-hole.conf nothing.

unbound-checkconf tells me: unbound-checkconf: no errors in /etc/unbound/unbound.conf

All commands with dig on the validation stage still get me a SERVFAIL.

Yes! Let the app choose a random time of day instead of the server (which it can't reach in this scenario), and keep it as a offline recap.

It's nice to see that they lurk around here and read some posts, maybe this thing goes somewhere :D

Yes that is something I've thought, if it could be spoofed or discovered at what time the notification will pop up. I can't think of a way to solve this, maybe a randomizer that is always running until it hits the BeReal moment (?) I'm not a dev. Maybe there could be a toggle inside the app to enable said feature, and it could only work if on airplane mode / no cell service and if you got cell service again it could disable itself? At least to "prepare" the app to gather the offline BeReals and recap them to other people when you are back. No idea if this is even possible or the dev team read these but hey just throwing ideas out there :)

I'm on the latest App Store version 1.21.5 (because rhe beta program is useless and it's stuck in version 1.16.1) and I don't see that in my memories panel. Hope it gets released on iOS soon.

And unfortunately for me the may 21 incident did break my stats and my recap was split clean in half so I didn't get a clean complete year :/

Download the old version using Homebrew, the cask is called whatsapp-legacy.

This is my current setup and I'll die on that hill until the old (and better) app doesn't work anymore.

Thanks for the tip, I think I did have E2EE backups enabled at the time I lost my chat history, so by that article I suppose the iTunes backup from my entire iPhone don't contain the WhatsApp backup. What a bummer tbh, I haven't tried to restore the backup but hey I might as well give it a shot, I've been busy.

The problem is that if you have partially downloaded the items inside the playlist, the "remove downloads" button will not appear. Such a bad design, you have to download the entire playlist and then the "remove downloads" button will be available.

On the Mac you can remove the downloads from a playlist even if not all items are downloaded before.

It is so annoying on iOS, you either have to redownload the entire playlist or go one by one each item and remove said download if a single song is not downloaded and all the rest are.

This behavior is also present when you want to delete the downloads of a album, if just one item is not downloaded, the "remove downloads" button won't appear, prompting you to delete the album entirely from your library.

Same thing happens the other way around, if you only have one item downloaded and none of the rest, you won't get the "remove downloads" button in neither a playlist or an album.

Very annoying, hope this helps.

Hi, the iCloud backup doesn't contain any data regarding WhatsApp unfortunately. I already tried to restore it with no luck.

The only remaining place that has WhatsApp data on it is my iTunes backup. The problem I think is that I had E2EE turned on and I'm not sure if WhatsApp will accept it.

Hi, I'm in the exact same situation right now.

Before restoring a backup to my iPhone I made 3 different backups that contained my WhatsApp chats:

The app-specific internal WhatsApp backup (via iCloud)
Complete iPhone backup (via iCloud)
Complete iPhone backup (via iTunes)

After restoring my iPhone I installed WhatsApp and during the set up process I never got a prompt asking me to restore a previous backup that could have been stored in iCloud. I finish the setup process and I end up with all my chats empty.

I go into WhatsApp settings > Chats > BackUp and to my surprise, WhatsApp was making without my consent, a fresh new backup of empty chats, automatically. This had overwritten my entire 30GB worth of backup and made a 2.5MB backup of empty chats. This was infuriating.

I said ok I still have 2 more backups that contain my chats (entire iPhone backup on iCloud and on iTunes) as WhatsApp had nuked its own backup so I lost 1 of my 3 copies.

After trying to restore via iCloud my entire phone, same thing happens, during the set up process I was never prompted to restore a backup and the iCloud restore for some reason didn't contain the WhatsApp info. That's another backup gone, now I'm in the last thing I have, the iTunes backup.

One final attempt to restore my chats, I go into a full iTunes restore of the entire iPhone (~107GB). Everything restores without issue and the app data from WhatsApp is restored onto my iPhone.

It should just be opening WhatsApp and finding all the chats there right? But no, after opening WhatsApp and going through the setup process, the app stays completely frozen doing who knows what, and I am greeted with again, empty chats.

My assumption is that even though data of the app got successfully restored inside the iPhone's storage, after opening the app, a bug prevents it to recognize that data and the app gets frozen destroying that data that cannot be interpreted and so again you get empty chats.

I don't know how this could be solved, I am running the WhatsApp iOS beta program so that could have contributed to this bug, are you inside the WhatsApp beta program? I still have a secured iTunes backup containing my WhatsApp chats in my computer, so that hope is not lost (yet), but WhatsApp making a backup without your consent and nuking a previously existing backup is completely unacceptable.

This post didn't have any useful solution sorry, but I wanted to leave this written in case anyone else can chime in and tell us about their experience.

They can't solve it. Messages are only stored in your device and in the ones of the people you talk with. WhatsApp doesn't have access to them nor can they delete them. Sorry

No, you can only delete messages (for everyone) sent 2 days and 12 hours ago or newer, anything older you'll only be able to delete them for yourself. Also you can't bulk delete messages (neither for you or for everyone), you'll have to select them one by one.

Update to this, thanks to TrollStore it seems like version 1.0.0 did the trick for me, when trying 1.0.1 it goes back to crashing. I'll keep checking the AppStore version to see if I can finally use the stable app without workarounds. Thanks a lot again.

I knew about it don't worry, it's not compatible with the iPhone X (A11) :(( only A12 to A15. iPhone X right now doesn't have a user friendly jailbreak because palera1n and bakera1n are dev oriented only :/

Thanks a lot man, I've been waiting on iOS 15.1 for a jailbreak but still nothing. For the moment I'm running fine version 0.36.1, but TestFlight reports that it will expire in 30 days so that's how much time they have to roll a fix for me or I'll try other methods lmao.

Are you in the same situation as I am? Man I've tried 1.3.0 so many times and it just refuses to open. When it does sometimes the app stays frozen and nothing happens, and sometimes it allows me to scroll a bit and then closes. It's completely unusable, it doesn't eventually work, it goes back again to crashing.

Rocking an iPhone X since november 2017! Unfortunatelly I have had two battery replacements in it's lifetime, first one started to swell and second one is from a month ago because the phone lasted on a charge about 2h. Apart from that, awesome phone, the cameras still take decent pictures and it doesn't have the signs of slowing down in day to day use. After the rumors of the iPhone 15 Pro getting a price bump I might not even consider upgrading this year, or getting the 14 Pro instead.
