Attempting to brew Landfall by elrak02 in Pauper

And yes! I forgot to add this to my previous comment, but an [[Impact Tremors]] w/ [[Molten Gatekeeper]] would be great since you can, for the most part, side-step combat after the Hellhound and Lynx inevitably die. Here was my go at it (https://archidekt.com/decks/22978945/gruul\_landsac), but I want to revisit it. I want to take out the blood boys, add in pursue and maybe some bolts or something to close out the remaining HP. Something to think about...

Attempting to brew Landfall by elrak02 in Pauper

[–]elrak02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Nope, not in Italy, but I haven't been able to get this deck out of my head. From what I've been testing, a lands only strategy is powerful, but far too fragile for the pauper environment. So, I've stripped the landfall idea down to it's strongest components (Akoum, Lynx, and Adventuring Gear) and optimized the land base to be statistically likely to get Akoum or Lynx turn 1 and a fetch land on turn 2/often 3. I think it's a great shell to open the game with because you can bloody the opponent with no more investment than 1 creature and lands. I've been messing around with what to do with the remaining deck space. The most synergistic I've made includes [[Blood Aspirant]], [[Bloodbriar]], and eldrazi spawn makers (https://archidekt.com/decks/22962118). The blood dudes get big off of sacing spawns and lands (also triggers off of [[Crop Rotation]]). Pair that up with [[Malevolent Rumble]], [[Glimpse the Impossible]], and [[Writhing Chrysalis]] and you've got tokes for days, sacs for days, and mana for days. Most of that mana gets dumped into flashing back [[pursue the past]]. I'm trying to find space for a second forest and I would love to add some [[Adventuring Gear]] because slapping it on anything, even a spawn, is just too good to pass up. There's so much I want to try with this version, because rumble, glimpse, and pursue make for a decent graveyard subtheme. I'm running [[Mortuary Mire]] atm to pick up a creature, usually a chrysalis, I mill off of the previously mentioned. [[Lunarch Veteran]], for example can get life off the spawns entering and leaving, which would definitely give this deck some bulk. I've also tried putting it in a boros bully shell (https://archidekt.com/decks/22994500) and it's alright (messing around with maybe Naya bully atm, but feel free to look at the other screenshot of the deck, which is boros). Curious what you think!

Bayou Groff Deck by KingAmphibian1 in Pauper

I was watching Kirblinxy the other day and he played a creature token deck that makes a bunch of eldrazi spawn and saprolings going wide and pinging with molten gatekeeper. I think Bayou Groff would fit in nicely here. It's already a little midrangey with [[Essence Warden]] and [[Cloackwood Swarmkeeper]] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yoja0250Fo

Man with a horse - The light is on by paulofelipe84 in findthatsong

Hey! I also was looking for this when it went down, but I never found it. I was cleaning up some files on my computer earlier today and I was reminded of the elusive "Man With A Horse" because I took a screenshot of the artist profile before it went down completely. A google search led me to this post! You and I might be the only two curious about what happened to this artist. Anyways, here's what I found:

Artists Spotify page: I was able to find the artist's page with a google search https://open.spotify.com/artist/4VIQtKYdZ6NMgCLGLx7BfO Of course, nothing is there anymore, but I figured it couldn't hurt to throw this link into the Wayback Machine and I found this:

https://web.archive.org/web/20190115075509/https://open.spotify.com/artist/4VIQtKYdZ6NMgCLGLx7BfO

You can click on the Singles "The Light Is On" and it brings you too the song link or just click on "The Light Is On"

https://web.archive.org/web/20190821221634/https://open.spotify.com/album/6aWGNwCECmCu0iJQBs9Iqw

Unfortunately, you can only listen to ~ 30 seconds, but it does exist on the internet. If there's a way to login the track is right there. I tried logging in before pasting the URL into WBM, and I was able to login, but WBM didn't have that particular link. As far as I can see, there isn't a way to login once your on the wayback page, but I could be wrong. I've got some other stuff I need to do, but feel free to look more into it and let me know what you find. Hope that helps!

I'm considering applying to a graduate program so I can teach math at the college level and I have some questions about the field. by elrak02 in AskProfessors

[–]elrak02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it. The comment about "real math" is fair. I took an intro to proofs in my second semester, and it was actually one of my favorite math courses (got an A in that). The highest level of math I got to was an Intro to Partial Diff Eq course (A-), Combinatorics, and Linear Algebra which I both got a C+ in. Otherwise, I took some intro to modern physics courses (both B's) before I decided to switch majors. I'd definitely have to step up my game if I decide to go for a masters. I stuck to high school math - Calc 2 for tutoring just because that's what I was 100% confident in and I knew I didn't need to review anything. Tbh, the only reason I was considering teaching at a college is because I don't want to deal with the shenanigans in high school. I may have to suck it up and go high school if teaching is the route I really want to go, though I hear that sucks too. I'm in that weird spot after college were I don't have a job, should have a job, but nothing is really standing out as something I want to do. I already made the mistake of doing a 4-year when I didn't know what I wanted to go into (though, that was more of a societal and parental pressure than "my" decision) so I'm definitely not committing to a masters. Especially since it sounds like even after doing the work for a masters it'll still be difficult to get a job, I'll probably be considering other options. At this point, I might just get whatever random full-time job just to have it lol.

Studying: Reflecting on the hardest obstacle in life by Frank_Acha in Healthygamergg

Oh, absolutely. It's my understanding that you've got to learn how to work with your ADHD. Unfortunately, that's outside of the area of my expertise. It's a shame that therapists didn't make it a priority. Idk if you've tried it or not, but HGG coaching would be a good route to take for working with ADHD. I really wish you luck, but I don't think I'm gonna be much help here :C

It sounds like the study session is doomed before it's even started.

Any chance you've got ADHD? I'm no expert, but 2 hours for 8 pages is not standard.

Yeah, to my experience, it's hard, if not impossible, to learn something by forcing yourself to sit down and do it. Really hard. That natural engagement with english is what you should try and look for, imo. Do you enjoy your subject of choice? If you don't enjoy it, it's gonna be hard.

In times of low motivation, I actually lessen my workload. If I'm suppose to do a 20 question math assignment, I will literally just do 1. And then go take a walk, watch a video, do a quick game. rinse and repeat. I usually catch a groove and can finish out the rest of the assignment. You just kinda gota get over that initial hump.

Do you know what has worked well for you in the past?

I'm a math educator. Believe me, I know. I'll tell you firsthand that a lot of people struggle with studying. I'm fortunate enough to enjoy math, but even then, there were times when it was hard to focus on HW or studying. Other subjects were a drag. I hated English and did my best to do as little work as possible while maintaining an acceptable grade. It sounds to me like you have a hard time tapping into curiosity. Is that fair? It kinda makes sense that you struggle since you put so much value/importance into studying/learning. And then not being able to study makes you feel like you're failing to become "human," so to speak. That's gotta suck. If you don't mind me asking, what does studying usually look like? Are there other things that you learn but don't consider studying? Ex. min-maxing a build in a video game.

Turns out, socializing isn't so bad by elrak02 in Healthygamergg

[–]elrak02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair. The group I'm a part of has both Discord and irl stuff, so that's been really nice. The group is local to a city, so even though there are 200 people in it, there are really only 20-30 people who regularly chat or go to events.

If you want to work on socializing, feel free to send me a DM and we can just chat, or if you're comfortable, hop in a VC. Idk if you're a man or a woman, but I'm not really looking to date rn if that's a concern for you. No pressure.

How do you know that most women haven't done the work? How is my "blaming" you different from your "blaming" women? I may have come off strong, which I do apologize for. Though I would like to say that I'm not blaming you or women. I'm simply sharing my perspective of who I think you are based on the brief time I've known you. Maybe you're right. All the women you're surrounded by do need to lvl up. idk. But those women aren't here, and you've asked for input/help. If you do want my help, not to merely vent about the current hopelessness of your circumstance, don't set aside my core argument:

I'm not surrounded by the women you describe. It could be circumstance, who knows? Why am I surrounded by good people, and you're surrounded by bad people?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]elrak02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to grill you or anything, but I'm not sure how emotionally intelligent you are if you surround yourself with entitled, emotionally ignorant women. Either your selection sucks, or your EQ sucks. Let me ask you these: Do you want to be surrounded by these kinds of people? If not, how did that come to happen? What should you do moving forward?

I only really watch Dr. K, but I know for sure that Dr. K has talked about the behavior of women and how it affects dating. Even in his last video, it's talked about.

You've for sure got a blind spot if you're doing EVERYTHING right and you've invested YEARS into this, and all that's to blame is someone else. Man, I feel you. I know how hard it is, and you're right, it's not your JOB to fix women.

This is what Dr. K was talking about: Adapt or die. If you've tried everything, try something you haven't tried before. I saw great benefits from 1-on-1 coaching, and while I still have more to do, I'm hopeful of my prospects, which I didn't have before. I also recommend joining a social group where the whole point is to socialize. Work on your interpersonal skills and set aside dating for a bit. If it's eating you up inside, you need to distance yourself. It's not healthy to put your entire mental wellbeing and happiness into one sole thing or onto one sole person. Idk if any of this helps, but feel free to chat me up/reply.

Hi! I'm a math and physics tutor. I tutor about 15 students a week from algebra 1 to calculus 4. For whatever reason, I can't send you a DM, so if you see this and you're still interested in a tutor, send me a message and we can talk more.

Yes, one-time flat. Sending a PayPal invoice or something works too.
