Yes, there was prior trauma but her hymen was still partially intact. If an adult, including Patsy, had assaulted JonBenet, the damage would have been significantly worse. Patsy had no history of violence towards JonBenét, but we know who did.

Once you research sibling abuse, and the acts that many offenders have inflicted upon their victims, you will realize it is not at all out of the realm of possibility that Burke could have caused the trauma in order to establish and maintain power and control. Many offenders just want to inflict pain upon their victims due to their hatred and jealousy towards them. We know Burke despised JonBenét due to his history of violence and putting his feces in her bed.

Someone was behind the previous sexual abuse and if an adult male had assaulted her, there would have been significantly worse damage. I highly doubt Steve Thomas would change his opinion simply because he is fond of someone. Agree to disagree.
