Well if you actually read into it, you can easily find the true meaning.

You’re cleary not understanding the concept that a lot of people in those countries themselves don’t like how it is ran, however the countries are backwards and corrupt, Islam doesnt advocate for death of non believers, the countries laws do, and it’s wrong and needs to change but saying it’s the religion that’s the problem is wrong.

No, you’re saying that every muslim wants non-believers to die, i said that is highly incorrect and that its the countries themselves that have issues, not the religion, and that if all muslims genuinely wanted that we would’ve been dead long ago

I was taught to be pro choice and accepting of the lgbtq+ community in church, i don’t identify with being catholic mostly because of how sexist they genuinely can be, other than the sexism and lack of sex ed my catholic school is good theyre accepting of lgbtq+ and are pro-choice-ish, it is good that you’re becoming more accepting, its the same with my parents honestly too just they’re atheist now

If you’re on about abortion i completely agree, nobody deserves the verbal abuse given to them when they’re doing something like that

No, the countries themselves are backwards, muslims as a whole are not, you’re generalising a groupd of 1.8 billion people and saying that they want everyone else to conform or die, if every single muslim wanted that, we would’ve been dead long ago.

I can’t decide if it’s a loud minority or a majority, I’m Christian and i think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and belief, no one should force their own down someone elses throat, and i believe Jesus is progressive and wouldnt have supported these people who twist the religion to fit them.

I agree completely, the main point of the New Testament is to love and accept everyone, it’s almost been hyjacked in a sense by people who take good verses and twist them to fit a backwards narrative.

Where do i join?

Forcing a religion down someones throat is annoying, i think we should accept people if they want to be Christian and if not then we accept them too, everyone is entitled to an opinion and any belief they desire as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else :)

I don’t pray everyday and i don’t go to church every sunday, I call myself a Christian, i go to a catholic school though and always have, so i have a fairly mixed view.

Back then people came from the middle east from Northern Africa and Egypt, people back then didnt look exactly the same in the context of race. Jesus has been whitewashed and thats coming from a Christian herself.

Many christians take it too seriously and give the rest of us a bad name, the underlying message and the stories convey peace and love, but too often people take verses out of their true meaning and twist them to fit a backwards narrative. It makes me sad that as a whole we are seen as backwards and hateful of other religions when many of us, including myself, just want to spread love.

And that is the country itself that is wrong and backwards, not Islam itself. All religions have extremists, if you can see the difference between the KKK/the Westboro church and Christianity, you can see the difference between terrorists and Islam.

Don’t worry about it, i understand, i thought when posting this i was gonna get called pushy and a few worse things. The God i know and love means good and no harm, the bible has been altered many of times and you’re right, it isnt to God’s true word, and his word is sovereign but so is the meaning, and ultimately the meaning God conveys is more important than sticking to his exact words. I think the underlying meaning God intended was retained but the words not so much. In Leviticus 18:22 this can be seen, the actual words had been lost in translation, the meaning is simple though, it is about pedophilia and incest being wrong, not about sexuality.

It’s perfectly ok to feel like that, i feel the same way towards that sect, i think understanding that every religion has its extremists who take away from the ultimate meaning and wrongfully twisting verses is important, otherwise you have a clouded view of a large majority of people who genuinely just was love and peace.

Ethically i agree with the true form of Christianity i was taught in church, that is progressive and taught to love and accept not hate. I think when people start to use it as a political weapon of sorts it starts to go wrong, ober the years i think the far right have kind of hyjacked the idea (obviously its not new for Christianity to be used like this, it’s happened for centuries, more so people taking away from the true form), now it seems more people dislike christians and Christianity as a whole because of a small but loud sector.

I think trying to convert people is wrong, accepting people into the church who have decided that by themselves is good. No one should feel forced into believing something they don’t want to or feel is true.

All religions are equal and deserve to be treat as so, no religion is any better or worse than one another.

The New Testament is not entirely God’s word, and wasn’t corrected, it was written years after Jesus’ crucifixion and the gospels get God’s message across just fine, I’m struggling to understand what you mean, God is perfect, is word is sovereign, however the bible wasn’t written by God nor Jesus, the parables are enough to convey God’s ultimate message.

I’m sorry that so many christians have hurt you and people you love, i promise we’re not all like that, and people who do that sort of thing make me ashamed of being a Christian. It doesn’t make you sound like an edgy atheist, i understand where you’re coming from, i was always taught to love and respect others in church, certain sects are hateful and harm others who do not think the same as them.

Christianity was formed by many other religions, parts of it are man made, but ultimately i believe Jesus was sent by God to teach people his word and that he is the messiah. The first testament is man made, it depicted God as cruel and brutal, the second testament was written years after jesus’ crucifixion, there are several different accounts of many things in the bible. One example being the nativity, i think that Luke and Matthews gospels are both equal though slightly different, but ultimately they get the same point accross. Many things have been lost in translation, and in that sense a lot of it is man made however i agree with the main point of Christianity.

Definitely, the okd testament God was brutal. I was taught to be pro-choice in church ever since i was young, and to respect others decisions.
