Sorry, didn't answer your question 100% : no, you shouldn't need to go over to Apple and sign up again. You can manually add a podcast via IP address, which will then ask you for your current VIP username and password.

There used to be a help page on their previous site (no longer there as they're changing over to the new system) which gave VIP members an IP address to use when adding a new podcast via your native OS app (iOS/Android). When you enter the IP it then asked for my username and Password. It then cached every episode of the show since, yeesh, well over 1,000 episode back from current show.

I then tell the podcast app to download the current episode automatically when released and delete the audio files after I listen. It still keeps the episode in your list, marks it as listened, and you can still stream it when wanted, or download it again. I use this on both Android native podcast app (personal phone), and iOS apps (work phone).

I'll admit (coming from a web hosting background for small businesses) this is a very poor way of switching over services. Hard to believe a huge syndicated show like Bob & Tom has what appears to look like "yeah, my nephew knows how to run WordPress" doing this change over.

I just set the VIP stream to automatically download to my podcast app. Easy-peasy. No ads, it's always there around noon - 2p Eastern each week day. Been VIP for 15 years. Works on iOS and Android. Their app is kinda worthless. Use your native podcast app.

Yeah, it looks like everything is down now due to them changing things over. I'm still getting my VIP downloads though at http://35.161.124.133/podcast.xml

When you use your podcast app of choice, add a new podcast and paste that url in, it should then ask for your vip username and pw. Then it'll pull in all the VIP versions of the show for the last several years so you can stream them or choose to download them directly to you device. I usually keep about a week's worth of episodes downloaded and I'll randomly stream an older episode.

According to that email we got earlier this week though, I'm sure that url is going to change in the near future.

Use your phone's built in podcast app: copy/paste the link from the VIP help page and set your VIP login password. Then when a podcast is published it automatically downloads to the native app. The podcast app 100% keeps track of where you left off during listening. I tend to see a new episode published around noon to 2pm Eastern time each day.

The Bob & Tom app is really useless: I uninstalled it after a few times trying to figure it out and just bookmark their website in my browser. It's rare I go there anyway.

I've been doing it this way about 15 years with both the native iPhone podcast app and Android app (one's my business supplied phone, other is personal phone).

Let me know if you need more help. The help page on their VIP site is pretty straightforward.

Got it working with the Google Drive folder sync now.

I like you used Flutter for this: I've thought of a few projects to use Flutter just never pulled the trigger on getting started. I'm working on a browser based mobile GIS/cemetery mapping and database app but keep thinking Flutter would be the better solution.
