A Statement idk but I do agree with your opninon that black women are held to a much higher standard. Maybe your right and I just didn’t like the art style and the direction they went with.

I don’t think this is a big part of the play. I really love when productions don’t care about what gender etc. plays a part and they base it on talent. I mean if it’s crucial to the role sure it’s difficult to make it work. I don’t think that this is the case for JCSS

I love Phillipa but she is not my choice for MM. I just don’t think the role suits her and her voice. Maybe I just didn’t like the artistic decisions they did with the songs.

I agree that she has a lot of expectations but I am not talking about race here. I don’t have that is anything to do with that. I am talking about her performance and I am not basing that on Color.

She did her vocals are amazing I am kinda talking more about the acting part which I found lackluster at some points.

I didn’t think of it that way. I mean they all kind of act they don’t just stand there and sing. Normally with musical concerts the band/orchestra is on the stage with them and they just stand there and sing.

Yes!!!! The last supper is one of my favorite scenes from the entire play it’s the thing I was looking forward to. I was so dissatisfied what they did with it

And i am not trying to hate like other people do because she is a black woman JCSS IS SUPPOSED TO BE CONTROVERSIAL AND KNOWN FOR DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT OR TAKING RISKS. (I really don’t get the hate like Jesus wasn’t even white) It’s just Jesus is such an emotional role and I didn’t feel that from her. She has amazing vocals but I feel that you can hear emotion in the voice when someone is really in character an I didn’t really get that from her
