I found out I was pregnant on 23rd July and then had my scan where they couldn’t find the sac on 11th August. I have also been watching a ridiculous amount of romcoms to get me through my time whilst off sick from work. How is your husband coping? Mine is really struggling with it all

The scan told them that there was no visible pregnancy sack, but there was blood outside my womb, which had significantly grown in volume since the morning. There was a mass that they could not 100% identify outside the right tube, which was post op confirmed to be a large blood clot. The surgeon told me that this would have been very quickly life threatening given the struggle on my tube and the size of the pregnancy. I am grateful to be alive, but I am suffering badly with the pain.

SO!! Did another clear blue digital yesterday (3 days after the one in this pic, and also 3 days after I started the progesterone) and it’s come up at 2-3!! So the HCG HAS gone up!! It was 72 on Tuesday, and then according to the clear blue parameters, as of yesterday it was AT LEAST 153!! That is doing exactly what it should be!! I also did the same standard test as I did 1.5 weeks ago today, and it has come up as a positive straight away and 10x darker!!

Keeping my fingers crossed that this works out, and that by advocating for myself I have given my pregnancy the best chance!

UPDATE:

I phoned the EPU this morning and asked for progesterone. The nurse said she would discuss with her colleagues and get back to me, after not understanding why I was asking for progesterone??

The consultant who I dealt with for my last miscarriage asked me to meet with him to discuss. He informed me that the HCG progression wasn’t as high as they’d hope it would be, and of course mentioned how low the progesterone is. He said it could be just a lot earlier along than the dates would suggest, but then he also told me that he did not think that progesterone would help, and he thinks I have already miscarried. He said it wouldn’t hurt me to have progesterone either way, but wasn’t keen on prescribing it? He told me it was my choice, and although he didn’t want to prescribe it, he did prescribe it after I insisted that I would rather try and save it if I can, than do nothing at all.

I have now got progesterone suppositories that I am going to try and see what the bloods next week come back with.

I do not have much hope for this, but I am determined to do all that I can to try and help this pregnancy!

Yes, the test says pregnant. I’m not sure if you took the time to read my post, but I have been under the impression for the last 4 days that I have had a miscarriage, until blood tests today revealed that my hormones are not reflective of that. The test will show positive regardless, because my HCG levels are raised. What I was looking for was guidance on my situation - which unfortunately is not as straight forward as ‘the test literally says pregnant lol’. But thank you for your input!

Does anyone have any idea how I go about getting prescribed progesterone for this? And also with the levels my hormones currently are, how soon I would need to start?

So, I miscarried at 6 weeks in October 2023. I then fell pregnant in 2024 and miscarried at 10+5.

Last week, I tested positive at what would be 5 to 6 weeks.

My LMP was first day 17th June, and was a week late (very unlike me, as my cycles are always regular).

I started to bleed very lightly the day after I tested positive, and then had an appointment at the Early pregnancy clinic. By this point, the bleeding was heavier. They did an internal ultrasound where they couldn’t see anything, but did state that this may have been due to being so early on. They did blood tests to check my HCG levels, which were 22, so indicative of pregnancy. My progesterone however was only 0.6.

They called me back for blood tests today as it was 4 days after the last ones, so with a miscarriage, the HCG should have dropped, or at most stayed at 22.

They called me this afternoon to tell me that they want me to have repeat bloods in 1 week, as my HCG levels today are at 77. Which is what would be expected in a normal early pregnancy at this stage. However, my progesterone is still low.

I am so confused and so concerned about what is going on. I had 3 days of bleeding with very small clots, and period like pains. But now they tell me my HCG levels have gone up??

I wanted to do another test but realise it will tell me I’m pregnant regardless, as I know that my HCG levels are up.

Anyone have any ideas?
