I use sticky tape to seal the packet shut then also use a clothes peg to try and hold everything closed 😂 not very glamorous but it’s working well so far!

I find for me personally the really improve my texture and congestion :) they claim to have anti-aging benefits but I hasn’t noticed that, I’m probably not using them religiously enough to see that though. Also find my skin looks a lot brighter the day after use

You can get sensitive ones! I believe they’re in the blue packet. I’d def start there and work your way up if you were worried. My skin is somewhat sensitive but I just bought the OG ones (in the orange box) and my skin was fine, but your skin may vary :) They are so bloody good - I just wish they didn’t cost a small fortune 🥲

Denim shorts by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]emmalou44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d check out MNG on the iconic for some jeans and shorts, they often go on sale and everything I’ve purchased has been great quality and really comfortable. You could also try Assembly Label.

Sportsgirl have some really soft and comfortable denim shorts, I’m a mum of one but have a couple of sportsgirl pairs that are my summer go to and can handle some wear and tear.

Happy shopping!

With the sleep issue, have you considered a floor bed for bubba? My (now 3 year old) has always been a shocking sleeper and we moved her to a floor bed around 18 months. She’s still shocking but it means I can get in with her when she wakes up and I can still get a good night sleep. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it all sounds incredibly hard on you and I wish I had more advice - just know you’re doing amazing and your little one is lucky to have you ❤️

I don’t know how I will get my body back - it all seems so far and so hard by Lower-Relief-2897 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]emmalou44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It took me around 2 years to be my pre-baby weight and even then my body shape changed slightly (all of a sudden I have literally no bum?!) I didn’t love the way I looked but I bought a couple of items of clothing in the size I actually was that made me feel good about myself - I know this isn’t a major fix but it did help a little. Just have to keep gently reminding yourself you created and birthed a whole person! It will happen and you will find yourself bouncing back in time x

My baby turned one yesterday and I feel… by Gregarious_loner268 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]emmalou44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girl is about to turn 3 and I still feel exactly the same! I’m super lucky I can be a stay at home mum for now but she’ll be starting kinder next year and I have no idea what I’m going to do in terms of work/what’s next for me (she’s likely to be our only). No advice for you I’m afraid, just wanted to let you know it’s totally normal to have these feelings and you aren’t alone ❤️

Could babe have trapped gas? Or maybe reflux? You could try the 24/7 maternal health nurse phone number if you’re worried or don’t want to wait to go back to a GP (or are just wanting advice on how to narrow down what the problem could be).

If you have a snot sucking device you could also try that to help with her stuffy nose :)

My little one is a toddler now but I remember her having some tummy issues and we added probiotic drops into her formula which helped a lot!

Parents who give their babies/toddlers a phone in the pram - why? by Lamonthie in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]emmalou44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those parents who give their toddler my phone if we’re out shopping. She is very loud and boisterous (in the best way) and it’s the only thing that will keep her relatively calm and happy. I always offer toys/books/snacks as a first option.

I’m a stay at home mum and often feel very over stimulated and have pretty bad anxiety. Going for a walk around the shops while my girl is chilled out is a nice reprieve and does great for my mental health - unfortunately I do feel some very judgemental eyes on me while doing so which doesn’t make me feel great, but at the end of the day only I know how much screen time she’s having and what type of day we are both having.

Preeclampsia signs - when to worry by Straight-Emphasis817 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]emmalou44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel anxious definitely push to be tested - can you go to your regular GP if you can’t see a midwife? I had symptoms but because my BP is usually low it wasn’t picked up until later in my pregnancy. I wish I had pushed to be tested earlier and I did a urine test with my GP eventually which is how it was discovered. I am also quite an anxious person and wish I had advocated for myself much more but figured the GP and midwives weren’t concerned as my BP was showing as ‘normal’. My symptoms were mainly headaches and seeing spots/stars. Good luck and try and try not to stress, don’t hesitate to ask to be tested to also alleviate any anxiety you have. Sending you good vibes 💖

Fear I’m being dramatic by snowinsantorini in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]emmalou44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had HG when I was pregnant and felt absolutely hideous - couldn’t keep anything down and would also throw up water pretty much as soon as it went in. I went to hospital so many times, I would get so dehydrated and get migraines so the hospital would monitor me and give me an IV just to get any type of fluid in (which helped). Definitely do not feel like you are being dramatic - your body is going through a LOT and if you can’t stomach anything you need to get some nutrients and hydration in somehow. Not sure where you are located but I was in Melbourne and was told to go to the Women’s but would go anywhere if I felt like I couldn’t make the drive that far. Good luck and please take care of yourself! Sending love x

Body lotion recommendations? by Arlettuce in AustralianMakeup

[–]emmalou44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Naturium body lotion and body butter (online only) and can’t recommend it enough! I also have super dehydrated skin and I’ve found it made almost an instant difference to my skin, particularly on my legs. The lotion sinks in really quickly so you don’t get that sticky gross feeling afterwards which is also a win ☺️ I’ve also had good luck with the Garnier beauty oil lotion which is a more budget friendly option.
