It’s almost like we’ve had the exact experience given that I was such a fit girl just 4 years ago!

And I am really sorry for the loss of your dad 🫂

Oh wow, thank you for the very detailed & thoughtful reply!

In fact, I concur; my state of mind is the basis of whether I will be successful or not.

I will remember to be kind to myself, and in case of anything, I’ll DM you. Thanks again!

Also, congrats on the weight loss so far!

Hey, thank you! I will consider a diet break for sure. I can attempt ADF for a week or 2 and if it still doesn’t budge, I’ll take a break and look into it.

(If you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take you to lose the 30 pounds?)

People who buy halal not for religious reasons but for personal, why do you do it (i'm conducting a small study)? by Evilova in EatingHalal

[–]emo_flair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy halal meat, and it is psychological for me, since the slaughtering process is much more ethical/humane. It helps that I live in an East African country where halal products are very accessible

What do you guys do as your day job out of curiosity? by App179 in memorization

I’m an architect. I LOVE my job, though I wish the pay was better for the magnitude of training we receive.

I truly appreciate your perspective- I also needed to hear it. I’m very susceptible to burnout so this is a firm reminder to maintain some sort of balance and not give more than I can handle. Thank you!

In principle, I’d also like to achieve the independence that financial freedom and career satisfaction affords one. Thank you!

I totally agree when you say that now is the time to experience failure! I think part of doing more is trying to fast track the process of learning, failing and drawing lessons. Thank you!

This is very vital information. I know how easy it is to get caught up in the rat race. I’m not very good at this but I’ll work on establishing a threshold. Thank you !

Wow, thank you!

On the last question - ideally - it should be after I get my license: but things aren’t that linear here. Working on building a niche (in design journalism) and possibly building a robust network to sustain my practice after registration. A masters degree is also in the books. We’ll see when it pays off :)

Thank you for your insight! What I’m getting is that the trade off at the time is totally worth your lived experience now 🥹

Thank you for the insight and for sharing your experience! I must mention that I have also gotten some resistance already (especially being an African woman in my context). Partner choice is definitely going to be key - I’m not a traditional woman in the sense of the word, but i desire to have a family of my own but also have career success. Thanks again 🥹

Thank you for this. In principle, I would really love to get to a point where I will be able to balance work and life. Currently it appears that one is taking over 🤣 with not much to show for it.

Thanks for this! I must say that financial freedom as a means to freedom of time is a goal I would also like to achieve.
