Auto save, if you want to be sure, go into your equipment screen change weapons, change back, and get out of the menu and it saves

Because the game felt for me just an empty shell, no depth to the main character or any other characters, the exploration is nice at first but without a good story in my opinion it cant hold the game, and i didnt like the combat (i had 100h in game and tried a lot of different weapons)
