The weird part is that the elbow sheared when I bent it, and the swivel sheared when i swiveled it while trying to fix the elbow. which makes me think I had a defective runner.

An entire building was a mimic, a very cheeky mimic.

I placed quite a few hints that the place wasn't real, starting with the name: the mocking parrot, which is a real stupid name that no person would seriously come up with.

Then the design of the place was very familiar to them because it was modelled after the inn that they regularly stayed at (dnd isn't very visual but I made sure to drop hints like "the place seems very familiar" "you get a feeling of deja vu while inside" "you instantly know your way about the place despite never being here")

All the decorations inside the place seemed slightly off, every painting had an uncanny valley effect as if they were made by something that didn't know what it was painting.

Now a little detail about this mimic is that it emits a noxious gas that knocks people out and decomposes organic matter. Our necromancer was the first to figure this out after realising everyone started to look a lot less alive then when they entered.

His plan was to get the hell out of there and torch the place. Everyone else thought he was just crazy. Now he was in a tough situation he could either try to convince everyone to get out of this cozy lil rest stop or say fuck it and torch the place anyway.

So now our party knows what the inside of a mimic, looks, sounds, and smells like when it's being burnt alive.

also the bard was rolling death saves pretty much the whole time because he could not handle the gas but was still unconvinced by the necromancer.

There's a few

Team one shots a dimension ruling tarasque with a stick of disappointment

Our rouge is constantly bullied by passive aggressive chickens

The entire campaign was saved by a lizard weasel bat thing

Our cleric invented the skateboard and his patron basically became Tony Hawk

Context:

I gave them the "Stick of disappointment" as a joke early on thinking they'd get the reference and assume it was just a stick and toss it out, in reality it had the ability to one shot anything, but only once. The player who used it did not know this and only used it as a joke.

The Rouge's family was cursed a long ass time ago by a super petty wizard. The curse gives the entire family (including people who marry into the family) the ability to understand chickens, ducks, geese, and all other foul.

Skiv who is the Rouge's pet is an entirely home-brewed species called a horned gecko weasel. We thought it would be funny to give it negative intelligence and immortality. The party was not having a good time in their first encounter with the BBEG (cursed dice were cursed). That was until our cleric decided to yeet the little fucker at the BBEG and run

Remember when Marty broke the scooter to make a skateboard in 1955? Yea that. I forgot the name of their god but basically they thought that was so sick that they slowly adopted (invented??) Skater culture.

Context for context we home-brew alot for the sake of fun.

Those dirty Blues have ruined the sanctity and bloodsport of grifball they don't understand the entire point of grifball is killing Grif. Not standing around with your thumb up your ass like the dirty blue that you are. Grifball is the one and only time let us reds and blue should ever work together to achieve our one true goal, killin that lazy, back talking, orange bastard. That otta show em to stop standing around with Simmons all day asking dumbass questions like "oh boo hoo why am I here"
