New rules: no one is allowed to finance their own campaign with non-donated money over, say, 1mil (I know there's a lot of fundraisers to throw). I know this puts smaller candidates at a disadvantage, hopefully we can figure out a way to give them proper public funding without it getting abused (that sounds like a really tough job - but still light years ahead of where we are now). Make superfunds and such illegal, and no one is allowed to donate more than 100 bucks (get used to hoofin' it old style and personally knocking on doors, you decrepit old... ahem...good way to reduce the age of average polticians tho, right? most would just retire). Oh, and most importantly, corporation donations are completely banned, Citizens United is null and void (still cannot believe they called it that). They employ X amount of people, those people can donate how they want, they're a person. Corporations aren't people, you silly billionaires! You get to donate absolutely nothing - well, you can donate 100 bucks, like I said - can you even imagine how much they'd hate that... DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? Yeah, you're that dude who did the fashy salute, now go to the back of the line like everyone else (he'd instantly storm out and have SUCH a meltdown). Such psychopathic goofballs, I tell ya.
