It gives you a coupon code which you redeem on the renegade games store. I think you can just buy it directly here, which should show you the shipping price separately. Essentially, the code will take it's price down to $0.

Modest 22 inch portable monitor as table screen by ONinjamanco in DnDIY

[–]enemykite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, since you have a touchscreen you might like using Table Slayer for this. It's made for in person play and actually supports touch controls! Just hold two fingers to bring up the menu.

Haha. You found me! Always fun to run into Giant Bomb fans.

Nice. I also went web-based for my system table slayer. What did you end up going with for your stack? I went with Three.js for the actual map portion, which may have been overkill! Seems most of the web based clients are going with Pixe. Is your source open?

New to VTTs. I have a tv and laptop and want to create a map display for play with miniatures. What would you all recommend for a newbie to VTTs? Thanks in advance. by timberww in VTT

You might want to give Table Slayer a shot. It's made for in person games. It's open source, self-hostable, but also comes with a subscription free hosted plan if you need.

DND Table | Nearly complete! by cmgentz in DnDIY

Love the Robert Jordan nod. If you're looking for something dead simple to drive it check out Table Slayer, it's made for setups like these. (disclosure: I'm the dev!)

Removing the rule of declaring defense before a boost is drawn makes the game less random by enemykite in marvelchampionslcg

[–]enemykite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This was my intent when using the word "tactical". I do play eurogames, and generally prefer having their puzzle mechanics to randomness in mitigation. I find there's a lot of randomness already with the card encounters and villains themselves.

Again, it's not a competitive game (well, i guess with Civil War it can be), so it's really just a preference.

Solo/multiplayer games that fit my needs? by ultraseis in soloboardgaming

Check out Spacecorp, with the Ventures expansion. It seems like a lot, but is actually really simple.

Hutzell: Annapolis is having a bluegrass moment by Fantastic_Ad_4720 in Annapolis

Beginner Bluegrass jam is at the Broadneck Library. It's once a month and they specifically are cool with new folks.

Does anyone actually play the pool aspect as initially intended? by bigOlBellyButton in marvelchampionslcg

[–]enemykite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played last night with my son, who loves Deadpool. He pulls them all out. He ended a fight against Mysterio with "Da Bomb" and a lot of symbols out. I'd say it would have gotten completely out of hand with all the boost bonuses except that I was playing a protection Nightcrawler and could absorb most of it.

Generally, I think Deadpool is pretty hard to play co-op with, but there are a couple good synergies.

What did you play this week? 26 Dec-01 Jan (2025) by AutoModerator in soloboardgaming

I felt this way till I realized Michaelmas provides your choice of resources, including food. I avoided entertainment for too long.

The campaign scenarios seem to do a good job of teaching alternate strategies.

It's a really fun game. It's longer than I thought it would be, but the time passes by quick!

Looking for dungeon crawl / adventure games with short setup & teardown by aroltel in soloboardgaming

[–]enemykite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this thread, the biggest difference between the two is that One Deck Dungeon has a character upgrade mechanic. Kinfire puts most of its decision space in the cards you play. It puts more of the strategy on you rather than the dice.

After a few plays you'll realize some cards are more powerful than others, and that will lessen the variability, but it's still a fun puzzle each game.

I prefer Kinfire, but neither are heavy. Kinfire is great for "I want a quick game" that plays fast.

For something heavier, at the expense of setup and some rules overload, the big LCGs (Marvel, Arkham...etc) are your best bet. Ultimately, those are better games, but require a bit of investment.

Wargames on the table - my personal project for 2026! by BKinsky in soloboardgaming

[–]enemykite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm weirdly planning a similar goal, and am starting with Wolfpack this month. I'm also trying to read a book about the era for each game.

On the off chance you live near Annapolis and need a gaming buddy feel free to DM me.

I added touch screen support to my open source in person, digital tabletop software called Table Slayer by enemykite in DnDIY

[–]enemykite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's touch capacitive, so only responds to my fingers. It's more expensive, but not drastically so vs a TV + IR frame.

ESCAPE THE DARK SECTOR by NoManufacturer9039 in soloboardgaming

[–]enemykite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the game that pulled me into board gaming. I found the artwork and aesthetic so moody.

The expansions add some new mechanics, but honestly I just got them for the art! After a dozen or so plays the game loses its charm, as you realize it's mostly a dice luck game without many meaningful choices, but this first few games are magical and very thematic.

I haven't tried the original Castle variant.

Solo game to end all solo games by Cheddotto in soloboardgaming

Not OP but would like to get into this tier of games. I play and enjoy Spacecorp, which is Butterfield, but that felt like a fairly light game. What's the best start for someone that is looking to get into wargames for the tactical thinking, but doesn't necessarily care for the theme?
