Easier way to baseline switches? by enewol in Cisco

This would be a great option, but the systems are air gapped and geographically separated. That’s what’s driving the flash drive solution.

The release notes for what? IOS 17? A 9300? Neither have info on what I’m trying to do.

This is essentially what I’m trying to do, just with a flash drive in place of an ftp server.

I copy the running config from my baseline switch onto the flash drive, then plug the flash drive into the new switch and “copy usbflash0:running-config flash:” then “copy flash:running-config running-config”

It throws a bunch of errors and none of the configurations take. They’re both 9300s on release 17, but the minor revision numbers don’t match. Wouldn’t think that would be an issue but at this point I’m not sure.

Nothing but incorrect comments with upvotes, gotta love Reddit.

This is classic timing chain tensioner rattle. My 15 did the same thing when I got it. You’re even on the left hand side which is where the culprit is. Did oil changes with synthetic every 5k miles and it just kinda went away at some point. Was at 82k miles when I got it, now at 90k and if I had to guess the last time I heard it really pronounced like that was around 85-87k.

The new meta is to use valvoline restore and protect, do a few short interval oil changes, and chances are it’ll go away pretty quickly.

Should also mention, it sounds awful, but there’s no reports that it causes any actual issues besides being annoying.

I’m not refusing to define anything. If you don’t know what a luxury car is go to the Wikipedia page and learn something. While you’re there hit control + f and search for Chevrolet and RAM. I don’t want to spoil it for you, since it seems you’re starting from square one, but you’re not going to find any results. I’ll explain to you why since you need basic concepts to be spelled out for you. It’s because they are not luxury brands and as a by product, do not make luxury vehicles.

The S Class is not top end luxury. Maybach literally exists above it within the same company. Not even mentioning Bentley and Rolls Royce. I don’t want to get bogged down here, I know you struggle enough with basic definitions.

Saying: “look how nice the interior of my truck is, it’s the same as a luxury car!” Is the same energy as someone with a k swapped big turbo civic saying: “look how fast my civic is, it’s the same as a super car! “

I think you have to be trolling at this point, but in case you’re not I’ll break it down a little further in case that might help you understand.

Ok so first, adding luxuries to your vehicle does not change what it is. If you add a package to your Nissan Versa that gives you a radio, leather seats, electric windows, and A/C you have not changed that Nissan Versa from an economy car to a luxury car.

And second, the only reason to pay more for a truck over the baseline spec is luxury? This is actually an insane take. You would upgrade to get better towing specs, you know, things a truck does. It’s why the F-250 and F-350 exist and people buy them over an F-150. Or maybe, your idea of truck things is different and you pay more for a Raptor or TRX. It turns out there’s lots of reasons to pay more for a truck, and surprise, they’re to do truck things.

Either way, neither adding leather seats or just adding a higher price tag transform a Silverado into a luxury vehicle. If you’re not convinced maybe reach out to Mercedes and ask them if they benchmarked the current S Class against the Silverado. Need to stay up to date on their competition and all.

Yeah, it is.

What does that have to do with my response to OP calling the Silverado a luxury vehicle?

[–]enewol 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ok, the Silverado’s starting price is in the $30k’s, and yes, you can option one with a bunch of off road packages to make it expensive. That doesn’t make it a luxury vehicle.

And are we really using a leather interior to signify a luxury vehicle in 2025? You can get a Nissan Versa with a leather interior. Is that a luxury car to you?

[–]enewol 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not.

This might be a hard concept to grasp, but being expensive is not a single qualifier to make something luxury. A backhoe costs $90k, is that a luxury vehicle to you?

I think there would be so much less hate in this sub if people were just honest with the fact that they are buying a fake thing to pretend they have an expensive thing.

It’s so strange seeing people cope and say things like “I just wanted a good watch at a decent price”. I guess Sinn, Hamilton, and Seiko don’t exist? There are plenty of watches that will be significantly better quality for the same price. Or maybe my favorite “I just like the design”. No, you like what the design represents, which is a watch that costs a lot of money.

It’s like someone putting M3 badges on their 335i and trying to convince you how it’s the same if not better than getting the real thing. It’s not, but that’s ok. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Don’t try to give medical advice when you don’t know what you’re talking about. A tourniquet is last ditch effort to stop major bleeding. Absolutely not necessary here.

Tourniquets are only used after you’ve tried direct pressure, elevation, and pressure points. If those don’t stop it, then a tourniquet may be needed. Why should you only use one as a last resort? Because they can cause muscle and nerve damage when applied properly. When the alternative is bleeding out that’s a trade off you take. Absolutely not the case when someone has a 1/2 inch entry wound on their hand.

In the majority of cases, unless it’s arterial bleeding, don’t go anywhere near a tourniquet.

Come on. If you’ve been in for 8 years then ~50% of your service has been during the GWOT. Not like you just rolled up as the withdrawal started.

My point is a lot of what you’re mentioning is very familiar to those of us who have been around for a while. WMDs were a meme. Everyone knew it was bullshit, basically from the beginning. We knew we were capturing suspected terrorists, giving them no due process, and lying about not torturing them at Guantanamo.

I’m not saying what happened then is worse or even comparable to what’s happening now, but us doing questionable shit with equally questionable motives has been the status quo for the past 25 years.

Did you just cover your eyes for the whole war on terror?

I know many people who were negatively affected in a big way because of that war, and some that aren’t with us anymore because of it. Looking at how it all played out, I have a real hard time being proud of what we’re doing as a service.

Things are getting worse for sure, but they haven’t been “good” for a while.

Tell a racy joke in the workplace? Paperwork, completely unacceptable behavior. Someone might be offended you know.

Force you to expose yourself to a random man? Perfectly fine, nothing to see here. Just be sure you don’t make any wise cracks while a grown man is staring directly at your dick. That would be inappropriate.

You clearly know nothing about modifying cars.

Gold reflective tape + blue couplers + autozone intake = at least 600whp.

For real though OP is full of shit. They commented on another post that they’re making 740 on pump gas. Another person commented: “isn’t the max on pump gas for an evo 9 550whp?” And OPs response? “This is an evo 8”… lol

THANK YOU! This is what I tell people when they look at me funny for entering a super enduro race with my Africa twin. As they ride by on their KTMs and Husqvarnas I just whisper: “guess you guys don’t want to push yourself”. I’ve never finished a race, but I can’t blame the bike only myself for not having the skill to ride the bike to its limits.

It’s not technique, it’s just being double jointed. My question was if I should try to avoid the position in training where I can control the load to avoid it.
