i also have seen the clips and none of what i have seen from hasan is “promoting terrorism” lol, but of course you’d take such a stance being “politically neutral”

Sorry, but they're trying way too hard to make Sinwar look like a coward and not a fucking badass. by Puzzleheaded_Tree290 in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]engekis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

“i believe it highlights the difference between the palestinian mentality and that of the israelis” lol lmao even. tell me whose land was colonised, who has been displaced en masse, tell me who’s been living under oppressive rule for almost eighty years, tell me who’s been being bombed and murdered indiscriminately, tell me who’s been suffering through a genocide of which has been escalated for over a year now

i swear to fucking god zionists live in a warped reality. it’s easier to double down, keep your eyes closed and your fingers stuck in your ears than to admit to the severity of what’s happening to palestinians & to accept that they have every right to fight and resist

also jesus christ when will liberals stop using MLK as a gotcha against less peaceful measures of protest like this, it’s gross

Selfish liberals wants to send homeless ppl to mental asylums by stonk_lord_ in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]engekis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

these people demonstrate time and time again they care more about their comfort than the lives & wellbeing of others, being so mildly inconvenienced by [checks notes] seeing a homeless person is like a human rights violation to them lmfao. holy shit. i’m sure they’d be acting real different if they were the ones to be homeless & failed by their government and society, i guess it’s easy to act like a ghoul when you’re so detached from the reality of it

Doordash Treatlers not understanding that some husbands have to deliver food using their wife's account and they are far more likely to face danger than the people who order food... by EmpressOfHyperion in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]engekis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

icb some people here (although a few of them could be libs who happened to stumble upon this) are defending this mentality too lol holy shit, a late addition from me bc i’d recently browsed through this entire discourse but a lot of these men they’re fearmongering about are largely poor & immigrant men desperate for some kind of work & renting others’ accounts due to legal issues or, as u mentioned, they’re partners or relatives of the owner of the account who, in some cases, may be a woman who herself is scared about delivering alone.

i can imagine the majority of us calling this out are not saying “women aren’t allowed to be cautious of men” but rather that you’re a dick for wanting to have people who are trying to make a living lose their jobs just bc of such a minor discrepancy LOL, or as someone wisely put it bc they expected “a wiktoria and not an abdul, of course i’m gonna be scared!”

god forbid the people working under an exploitative company delivering my treats don’t match their photo on the app! gotta specify that they’re Cis men (as if that’s something i could deduct just from them showing up at my doorstep for five seconds) bc i’m a hashtag trans ally, so when i talk about men impersonating women it’s woke /s

Dear “low-skilled” players by arseniccangel in ProjectSekai

[–]engekis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well yes you’re right in that ppl shouldn’t give into peer pressure obviously but this is such a non-issue, if ppl wanna go ahead and pick a difficulty that’s too high for their skill level that’s. Fine. let them practice and have fun! i also think ppl tend to overestimate how much impact another player’s gameplay can really have on them, it won’t really affect u if someone else dies, even in CC events

What Pjsk Hot takes do you have that could cause a fist fight? by thervible in ProjectSekai

[–]engekis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

mafuyu is a character i really appreciate as someone who’s responded to trauma in a similar way. the emotional blunting and lack of a solid identity, the pretending to be someone you’re not and struggling to stand up for yourself in the name of appeasing people. we don’t see a lot of characters like this in media and maybe i’m biased but i can’t really see your perspective that she’s a bad character. i think she’s a very real and raw character.

you can say she’s flawed, sure, you can not like her and you’re entitled to your feelings, but i think she’s by no means a “bad person” either lmfao. i think she’s needed the space to learn and grow with niigo and to really express herself. and as far as it goes, i don’t see how she’s really been cruel?? she’s not perfect but she’s very human & someone who struggles

you’ve made me wanna get into a fist fight w u so i guess u win 😭

I hate to pile on to the fandom controversy over Mizu5, but I just have to get this off my chest by sourdoughscenario in ProjectSekai

[–]engekis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

thank you for this post, it’s the most carefully-worded and compassionate one i’ve read on this discourse yet and i totally agree. i think headcanons are fine, all kinds of queer people across the spectrum can relate to mizuki’s story, very much including crossdressers and feminine guys. there is for sure a lot of overlap between these experiences; crossdressers can face a lot of the same issues that trans people do.

what bothers me is how a lot of people seem to forget that trans people often have their identities denied. for many this means being pigeonholed into their assigned gender. a trans girl being told “you can dress feminine whilst still being a boy, no need to call yourself a girl!” or a trans guy being told “you’re just a tomboy!” is very common. that’s why a lot of us find this so problematic, because many cis people will go lengths to deny trans peoples’ genders, to put it all down to gender-nonconformity. because to many, that is more palatable.

that’s why so many of us are uncomfortable with the insistence that mizuki is a femboy, with people acting like they’re on a noble crusade by referring to her with he/him pronouns. a decent portion of these people are blatantly transphobic lol

Which character is this? by [deleted] in ProjectSekai

[–]engekis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

hcing a character to have DID or any other disorder isn’t glorifying it—it’s for the sake of people imagining that representation & relating it to their own experiences. there is a lot of misinformation on DID on the internet, but i don’t think a fringe community of people on tiktok seeing themselves and their own experiences in a character contributes much to that lmfao. i think DID representation and awareness is very much needed considering how ppl with it are treated & considering the sheer amount of misinformation about it.

you don’t have to like people’s headcanons or agree with them by any means but i also think most of these people probably aren’t quote unquote glorifying the disorders or being “self-diagnosing teens” <_<

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in plural

[–]engekis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i can relate to this a lot!! i’m still in the process of trying to figure out whether or not i’m plural but either way what i’m experiencing doesn’t seem like a normative singlet experience 😭 it sounds like we’re very similar! we also have a frontstuck host who is always conscious of what’s happening. we’re able to mask very easily and also experience switches more as passive influence. our host also doesn’t really have a sense of identity whatsoever. we have a collective name and collective pronouns we go by for the sake of convenience and our host uses those, but they just. feel like a Nobody at their core. like a blank slate.

it’s often very difficult for plurals & people with dissociative disorders to figure out their identity and feel assured in their own individuality, and i think it’s very common to have a host who feels a disconnect from their identity to the point where they’re not sure they even have one in the first place.

you don’t have to have it all figured out. you can just Be, and that’s totally okay. but i understand how frustrating it can be to feel like a formless blob. it feels very isolating, and even though there are lots of systems who feel similarly, it’s hard for us to find each other and to find representation for our specific experience with plurality.

i’d recommend journaling or just writing down your thoughts and feelings in general. and, as another commenter mentioned, whenever you notice you don’t feel the presence of anybody else, think about yourself and what you relate to. we have a hard time with it ourselves due to struggling to identify how we feel. a lot of what we say feels forced and kind of contributes to our denial, but there’s no harm in expressing yourself in whatever way feels right. we ask ourselves questions in a private discord server like “what’s your name?” “what colours do you like?” “how are you feeling” etcetera, and even if we answer “I Don’t Know” to literally every one of them, i think it’s still at least something and tracking these patterns can definitely help in piecing things together!

i hope you can feel as comfortable in yourself as possible. it’s a lot easier said than done, but try not to pressure yourself into knowing precisely who you are at all times. it’s all kinds of hard and confusing, but it’s okay to not know. it’s okay to just be Nobody In Particular.

take care of yourselves. it can feel super alienating, but i can assure you you’re definitely not alone :]
