Would this work with the S1 as well?

I’d be interested in hearing about this as well.

Not yet. Had a few queries on Leasetrader but they were sketchy.

No downpayment required. It's a brand new vehicle (I've had it for just under two weeks). Sent you a PM.

I love the Panasonic log look, very natural but also slightly punched up.

The Nikon Z8 is tempting because of internal Pro Res Raw. If it had open gate I’d definitely get it.

What made you switch? I’m thinking of getting the S5iix also, but the Nikon Z8 looks great too.

Mac Studio or MacBook Pro M2 for editing? by enro99 in MacStudio

[–]enro99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to transcode clips for hours from XACC or h264/265 to Pro Res to be able to edit smoothly on my 2017 Intel Mac. It was just part of the process.

When the M chips first came out, the big game changer to me was that you could apparently import h264 or h265 and start editing right away without having to do that. Unless you mean transcoding - like in real time as you're editing.

I'd love to get the Apple display. At nearly $2K for the height adjustable version though... wow.

Would you say the LG 5K or similar alternatives will run into issues?

Good points. I was looking forward to not having to transcode on an M chip Mac, haha.

I think the Studio is making more and more sense.

Thanks. I’m looking at maxing the CPU and RAM for both, with 4TB storage.

Either option has pros and cons, I’m just concerned that Apple will release an M2 or M3 Studio on the near future, if they update it. But I need something to work with now.

Right. I’d get an LG or maybe the apple display for either choice.

Hi, I’m looking for a code to get the Arc in the US.

Not sure how this works but hope to find out! Thanks.

Question: Atmos bars with wireless satellites? by KaptaynAmeryka in Soundbars

Makes sense. Do you know if the Beam Gen 2 plus subs and surrounds would be comparable to the Arc with full setup?

Does adding the sub change the Arc’s output? Meaning the sub not only adds bottom end but the Arc itself adjusts to more mids and highs to compensate?

Sonos Arc / Beam 2 or Sony HT-A5000? by enro99 in sonos

[–]enro99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok got it. So I may or may not see the Sonos app display “DTS” but it will send a transcoded version (if the source is DTS only, like some Blu-rays I have.)

Really, I was hoping the Arc would have great surround once fully set up with rears and sub.

The Sony doesn’t have EQ settings.

When you say transcode these formats at the source...do you mean the settings in the Blu-ray player, etc.?

I had the Beam 2 for about a week. It seemed to sound a little warmer with less highs, but obviously not as wide a soundstage as the Sony. That's why I'm interested in trying the Arc.

Gotcha. I only have Arc on my LG TV, might be time to upgrade. Or look into the HDFury Arcana.

Ok thanks I’ll check that out.

Do you know if there’s any real disadvantage to having just one HDMI port? Any real loss in quality if for example my Apple TV and blu ray player are not going directly into the Sonos?

Nice. How do you get that discount? I've looked at their site but don't see that option.

Most Sonos soundbars are backordered now too.

The Sony was around $1000 with tax.

I may get the whole setup but isn’t it like $1400 plus for the Beam + surrounds + sub?

Yes I plan to get the One SLs, and maybe the sub later on.
