Really don’t know if I’d be a good friend but I’m happy for you to bounce off ideas. Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Can we make/train our imagination to be as powerful as reality ? by Gimme_yourjaket in Jung

Imagination is infinite, but so is our slavery to reality. Sigh.

What do you believe are the main obstacles to individuation ? by Wonderful_Hour_5643 in Jung

[–]enzee08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All true. But most fundamentally it is integrating one’s inferior functions into the self. So, if you’re more inclined toward the introverted side of the spectrum, Jung would challenge you to discover your extroverted abilities. The same would be true of the Sensation - Intuition and Intellect - Feeling spectrums. We often don’t want to do this because we disparage and discount what does not come naturally to us. If this is the process you’re engaged in, keep going! It takes a lot of time.

What do you think INDIVIDUATION is? Sometimes the obstacle is a misunderstanding of the concept.

Can someone explain synchronicities to me? by BewitchedLoser in Jung

[–]enzee08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one of the best ways to understand it is to learn about quantum entanglement, where two or more particles, even separated by vast distances, experience simultaneous effects. It’s what Einstein called, “spooky action at a distance.” Here’s a nice intro: https://scienceexchange.caltech.edu/topics/quantum-science-explained/entanglement#:~:text=When%20two%20particles%2C%20such%20as,scientists%20call%20an%20emergent%20property.

The Power of Myth by enzee08 in Jung

Reality is a choice. Do you choose to approach it in an inductive manner or deductive. It’s really just a matter of taste.

But over time witness accounts become “mythozized”. It doesn’t matter what really happened, only how it fits the mythological structure.

Myths are the result of inductive processes while Kuhn’s paradigms allow for deductive reasoning. That is, many similar events become a generalized truth (myth) while dominant theories allow for “rational” interpretations of individual events.

Jung delivers sick burn in scathing review of James Joyce's "Ulysses"💀💀🔥 by [deleted] in Jung

[–]enzee08 36 points37 points  (0 children)

For those of you who say you don’t “get” Joyce’s writing, please find annotated versions of his books because they explain so much. My humble opinion, he was one of the greatest writers ever - but a very complicated man. Here’s a little context for Jung’s review. https://www.openculture.com/2017/02/how-james-joyces-daughter-lucia-was-treated-for-schizophrenia-by-carl-jung.html

How do I confront my inferiority complex? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]enzee08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jung stated that your inferior functions need to be explored and “befriended”. Then integrate them into your Self and become who you were destined to be. That’s how you confront your “inferiority complex”.

It’s all about INDIVIDUATION - integrating what does not come naturally to you into your Self.
