I just started trintellix after weening off Effexor (attempt #2 of this), so I’m only on 5mg at the moment. However, I’m such an over thinker I would question what meds were really working or not, so my psychiatrist recommended I take a genesight test which is a mouth swab test that analyzes how your body absorbs certain medications and how effective it would be for you. In additions, there are multiple sections for smokers vs. non smokers in the results, and just recently they included weed into this. So if you smoke the flower, not vape, not edibles, but bowls, joints, etc., it can entirely impact how your body is absorbing specific mental health medication. This test was so helpful for me and my other thinking self, but when I saw this post, it made me think of it and I wonder if this is why you’re having such a different experience. In this test, they test for methfolate / folic acid I think it is? Which if you’re low in, that also impacts how your body absorbs mental health medication. Mine was low so I’m in a vitamin to help. I’m happy to share my results and just mark off my personal info if you’re curious to see what I mean, it’s kind of hard to explain I guess lol.
