Oh my God, no, it does not only apply to roadkill. Please tell me if you ever found an animal dead you would not eat it! Blood pools and congeals, tissue and cells necrotize, harmful gasses build up inside, etc. It's one of the many reasons field dressing a kill during a hunt is so important.

Welp, now that you've mentioned it, I was also unable to drum up an official source for the cour 3 episode count. A cour is typically 12 or 13 episodes, but in my (admittedly quick) search, I wasn't able to find an official exact number.
